View Full Version : DVD Audio Ripping Software?

Does anyone know a good program to rip audio from a DVD? All the ones I have found cost money and do a terrible job. If you could PM me a link to a torrent you know is good that would be awesome, or any freeware that works well.

Wish I could help ya after all the help you and steven gave me with the Dreamcast websites and burning...

I'll ask my brothers friend, he's big into DVD's and burning them and whatnot, probably burned over 500 DVD's, I'll ask next time I check if he knows how to rip audio...

Nero can rip audio from a DVD? I thought Nero was just for burning.

I know there are programs that will convert DVDs to avi and programs that will convert avis to mp3s.

Also you can use Microsoft Sound Recorder to record the line out on you PC. Records everything going to your speakers.

Sound Recorder gives me terrible quality.

I actually think if I had an avi I could just use that with my music software. That's what I need this for by the way, in case anyone was wondering.

It should record to wav and have full original quality. Are you trying to compress it or convert to mp3?

try ripping with one of those programs, THEN upload the dvd to this and rip the audio. ;)

I've gotten a crap load of songs form youtube that way, even got some to work on my psp from converting them from .avi to .mp4.

No. Never used it. I use Acid Pro.

Oh. Audacity can give you some good stereo mix quality for recording. I've used it for years, and I consider giving it a shot for this kind of problem.

Never heard of Acid Pro.

Not that I think Audacity is bad, I've never used it, but typically you get what you pay for. Audacity is free and Acid is very expensive. It's also very good, and what I am comfortable with. I have been using it for something like 6 years.

I may give Audacity a try if I ever run across another problem, thanks for the tip.

Yeah. It's a good, solid program, it just doesn't do a whole lot. If you want one day an advanced version of sound recorder with some basic effects, then Audacity is your man.
