I had to go with Halo: CE, I will always view that as not only the best game in the Halo franchise, but a complete and total innovation towards console FPS's, almost every FPS I play today I can see parallels to that game.

I actually really love Counter Strike though.

tough, tough choice, i can find merits in most of those titles. wolfenstein and doom were probably the titles that brought the masses to the fps genre, simply because it was shareware.

halflife 2 is a great title, not to mention part of a great franchise.

halo and goldeneye were both the elite fps titles for their respective consoles.

storyline wise, half life 2 and bioshock are both ace.

if you are going to have counterstrike, then i think you also need to have unreal tournament, both multiplayer fps oriented.

i think my vote goes to cod 4, i'm not saying that it is the best, but it is the one i enjoy playing the most.

The only ones on there that I've ever played are Duke, Doom, and Quake and I wasn't a fan of any of them. The only FPS that I semi-enjoyed was Turok.

It sucks too. All of my gamer friends own either a PS3 or a 360 and are always playing online FPSs. I wish they appealed to me.

Yeah Shadowrun is hardcore. Once you get the hang of it you'll understand why people play it religiously even though it had no DLC and the company folded before it could alter anything(besides a few needed bug fixes). It's that damn good.

So many times I get tossed into a room with a team full of elves and I'm the only one who will Rez :mad: Earlier today actually I played two games in a row where the first one I got 11 rez's and the second I had 12.

Yeah, I checked out a BioShock game play video on youtube and it wasn't any different. I'm sure its a great game, I just don't like the genre at all. Which kind of sucks since that's what the market is flooded with and where developers pump the majority of their budgets on.

I loved Goldeneye but it wasn't the first to go to consoles. Doom and Wolfenstien did it first and did it awesome(for the snes limitations). Goldeneye did have multiplayer though so it does make it notable. But, I think Perfect Dark was much better.

I voted for Doom since it was the first huge success and it paved the way for all the other FPSs(and it was just awesome).

I'm almost 100% sure I remember your name from SR. I don't recall any names from Halo or other games.
I doubt the brothers you played with were us. I didn't have my own 360 when I played Halo3, I played on sumostomp and kinga812 back then.

Btw you might know sumostomp because he plays SR pretty much daily. He likes to trash talk about his use of strangle if that helps jog your memory.

I'm in a lot of those games too. I always buy rez even when I play as troll. I've gotten to the point where I'll ask people to buy it, if they don't and it's late in the game I'll either team kill them out of anger or wait for them to die and taunt them by rezzing just out of reach of thier body. I'm fed up with people playing a team game and not thinking of the team.

but because thats in my room instead of my 19 inch crap tv in my living room i do not have xbox live hooked up........... yet my dad is a photographer and he has a few things this week he said later this week we will try getting xbox live hooked up

doom by far. it was the first FPS game i ever played and i fell in love with it. most people thinks its overrated because they only played the shareware version which only contained the first episode. if you own the game or played the other two episodes then you'll realize that doom was one kick ass game that you can beat about ten times and never get bored of it. for its time there was no game better

Goldeneye one of my favorite games for N64 and had one of the best mutiplayers out there

and to me quake was just a cheap rip off of doom that id made realizing that it made one successful game and try to make it again but just change the name and add a jump button. but it was still a pretty good game.

Well actually Counter Strike started as a mod for the original Half Life, and there are a lot of other games on that list that have quite a few mods like Half life 2 and Doom and Quake.

I know quake had a crazy amount of mods, but what I meant to say was that Counter-Strike had the Source and there was a lot of freedom for modding.

There's even a mod where you surf through triangular walls(i have no idea how people come up with this stuff)

Personally I didn't like CS that much, I think Team Fortress was better. Maybe it was the crazy amounts of cheaters that ruined it for me but CS was never fun when I played it. Shadowrun 360 uses the same system as CS and it's the best FPS ever made though.

You must have played non-steam cause I almost never see cheaters and if I do they almost automatically get kicked.

I don't remember really, I played back when it was still new. The cheats I remember were seeing through walls and other game breaking stuff like that.
