sounds good...looks like the bagel bros. were the big spenders...when we cry about a recession, they are busy laughing in our faces and catching our tears with their 50 dollar bills.

@ cam. in 5+ years, i wouldn't be surprised to find out if kong has put anywhere from 10000 to 15000 hours of work into this. 600 bucks (currect 300 + next 300) would break down to about 4 cents per hour. I would pay 4 cents an hour to use this site, hands down.

@ Jim: Ahh Jim, you discovered our secret! We catch and bottle the tears of gamers and sell them online. We are currently hoping Microsoft will partner with us and allow people to download Gamer Tears (TM) as some sort of DLC on the Xbox 360 (not to be confused with R.U.'s own Dead Tears). As Eric Cartman once said, "let me taste the tears of sorrow!" >:D

Just kidding. Seriously, this is just a way we try to help out when can. Everyone helps in their own way from the Site/Game mods who put in a lot of time to help out, to Kong himself who, I think, has chosen to devote most of his life to R.U. to make things fun for everyone.

@ Cam, I can see what you are saying, but Kong spends soooo much time making R.U. a cool place that I don't think the goals he sets are unreasonable at all. I am sure he wants to add even more to the site, but pacing it like this can help him out too (Shhh! I think Kong secretly want to add Amiga games, but he doesn't want to ruin the surprise. *hint* *hint* Just kidding Kong. Unless you really want to of course.). :)

Any who, the way I see it, if those of us that care about R.U. can help Kong out with time/$/etc., we all win in the end.

Yeah. You know I had that NAT error initially. After I fixed that another error kept me down for awhile. Most of that was resolved last weekend, and then I found out that my Live account had expired. Now I just received a new 13 month card, so I will hopefully be able to reactivate my account sometime in the next few days.

I think my brother and I are probably a little uncommon in the fact that we are virtually not competitive with each other at all. Some of that may be due to the fact that there was a significant age difference between us when we were growing up. As we've gotten older that age difference has become less important and now we just prefer to double-team against everyone else. ;D

He is a professional musician (as we all are), but he doesn't play games. Our mom does, though. She likes puzzle games, and our sisters like a variety of games.

Yeah, my family is really into games. When we were young (and sometimes still today) we would play board games all the time, so when video games came along it was a natural transition for most of us. We did use to fight over what game to play when we were young and had just one T.V. For example, I would want to play Metroid and someone else would want to play Dr. Mario or whatever. We solved the problem eventually by each buying our own T.V.'s, so we could play whatever we wanted.

Speaking more on this topic, I do have two brothers, Sean, who is 6.5 years older than me, we are like WB & GG, we always get along, and we may as well have grown in the same console era with the consoles they gave me as a youngen.
A good comparison of me and my bros for the first 10 years would be pretty much a replica of the bros in home improvement, no joke. My bros were great friends, but Sandy is a loner and drifted away from both of us, due to similar interests, Sean & I only drifted closer. It is funny beating him at Top Gear 3000, 3 consecutive times :D

Sandy is a new school gamer unlike Sean & I, he is 18, I don't see him much, like I said hes a loner, he just borrows my X-box :p

@ Cam, I know what you mean: it's pretty cool having siblings who are into the same things that you can game with. My brother and one of my sisters (who, incidentally, just recently started getting into RU more. I bet some people could guess who it is pretty easily.) have often played together, and it's lots of fun. We used to play everything from sports, to action, to wrestling, to RPG's together. If we wanted to beat a one player game together, we would each take turns passing the controller back and forth and keep a running 10-20 minute timer going. When the timer would beep, it would be the next person's turn.

The rest of the family plays too, but more on their own. Sometimes we do play some games together, though.

I am the youngest Cam. Growing up in my family was a little different, though. We grew up traveling all around together (doing our entertainment thing), so we were kind of all more like partners in a way. We were more or less small adults, but we had a lot of fun.

How did you know Jim? For a long time we were known as the Flying Bagel Bunch, and we would saunter across the land in the bagel bus meeting people and having adventures (like Cain from Kung-Fu, MacGyver, or RU's own Kong).

Later on we decided to diversify, and added 3 gerbils, 2 mules, and 1 elephant. I would tell you what part they played, but I can't say it in the general section. Suffice it to say that after we added them to our act they started calling us The Aristocrats. :)

After that I just focused on Kareoke bars and just getting together with my family on holidays to sing the songs we used to sing together!

Did you guys have some kind of group like that or do theater? Ive been in a few plays/musicals myself. I dont think Im that great but I had fun doing it and entertaining people.

That's awesome that you come from performers too. Yeah, life does have a way of kind of messing things up sometimes. Even in my family, many of us are kind of doing separate things anymore because it's really tough to get all 6-7 of us together schedule wise.

I think it's also fun that at least 5/8 of us in EC are musicians. Pretty cool! :dance:

My sister performs professionally, well almost, shes driven by our cousin who is with "Carnival Entertainment" and works on cruise ships, my sister will probably end up doing the same thing. the rest of my family off my moms side, has always besn great at bassball, we all usually play it(just Sean, Gramps & I now and cousins, uncles, etc.) baseball is big in our families, down where I live, it's different versions though(Slo-pitch & fastball).

I'm dang good if I say so myself, 10 years of baseball as of this year! :D
I'm the fastest baserunner, Shortstop and outfield expert, I also pitch which is dang hard, barely anyone can do it, it's so complicated.

WB: i have 2 brothers, neither of whom are on this site. also, in my family, we have the makings of a band to an extent. my older brother plays guitar and piano, dad pretty much the same, me with piano, sexyphone ( ;) ) and clarinet. although both me and my dad can just pick up an instrument and play a tune - its excellent!

The Bagel Bunch was something Gamenguru came up with as a spin-off name of the Bagel Bros that you came up with. We really like the Bagel Bros name, and you can still refer to the two of us that way.
