Anyone have a bad/mediocre game they like?

For me, I'd say Zero Tolerance on Genesis. I liked how it offered more strategy than other Wolf3D clones, and is the ONLY real Wolf3D clone on Genesis (if you don't count that god-awful attempt Corporation).

And any game that was bashed to death by some console fanboys, such as Halo, doesn't count.

I just tried the Genesis port of Syndicate, thinking "Oh, I'll probably enjoy it like I enjoyed Zero Tolerance". It wasn't all that crappy, just fairly easy. The only times I wouldn't enjoy a game is if the controls were poorly designed or if there was little to no challenge present.

i think the way of looking at it is, these games do not excell in any category and are, at best mediocre, but for some strage reason you really like them. they have a certain "je ne sais quoi" that appeals to you exclusively.

Cheetah Men II. The first time I played, I loathed it, but I played it again for some reason, and it's grown on me. I still think it's the worst game ever made, but it's so bad, it's good.

Karate Champ is another game that fits under this category for me. I don't really know why I enjoy the game. The collision detection is atrocious and the gameplay is basically just button-mashing.

ET doesn't deserve all of it's hate because It's technically impressive, but the problem is that it just isn't very fun. However, it's still about average or slightly below average for the console.

I like the Mega-Man battle network games, and people seem to hate them.

I guess I wasn't going by ratings, but by how goofy they are. They started getting more and more mediocre as time went on, especially in Project 8 when you can fly a mile after a bail.

My favorite in the series is probably American Wasteland. I suppose that isn't very mediocre by any means.

Skate is a better skateboarding game. I didn't like Tony Hawk because it ended up being nonstop continuous combos(trick into manual, repeat) if you wanted to set any real scores.

This game is totally misunderstood. It's actually an artful abstract expression of the freedom that truckers feel on the road. Wonderful game, and I love it. :rolleyes:
