ok, so total recall was on sci-fi tonight (edited...ugh), i've probably seen this movie about 50-60 times, but for the life of me, i still can not figure out the ending...

at the end, the chick hints that all of the events of the movie are actually a dream (those who have seen it know what i'm talking about), so the question is, did the events of movie actually happen, or is the whole thing just a dream based on schwartzeneggar going to the rekall place? your thoughts?

if you haven't seen it, and want 2 hours of cheap, over the top violence, cheesy one liners, and the perfect "trifecta" go see it

Ok well my personal opinion I think the movie gives the option of 2 endings for the viewer. Alot of older movies use that feature, along with movies today like Pulp Fiction.(whats in the briefcase?) But if you watch it again you will see the technician who is putting in the memory implants say something acorss the lines of ~Blue sky on Mars, that's a new one~...Then if you look closely you will notice that is the exact ending. He also fullfilled everything on his list including the girl etc...
Basically I feel its left open for interpretation by each viewer. :)

the same technician as mentions that the implant hadn't been loaded yet, so...the question remains, was it all real? or was it all a dream? i suppose i'm curious about what each viewer's interpretation is?

You're right...and I think thats when the spit occurs. I think some people like myself take that is the initial part of the implant to make it seem more real. Going from his real memories straight into the fantasy world. But thats one really good thing of the movie...leaves it open.

Either way you cut it Total Recall is a good Schwarzenegger movie.

I was never really confused by the ending/plot line of Total Recall. It's a Schwarzenegger movie so it doesn't really have to make sense. The real treat is Ironside...Michael Ironside. I'll watch any movie he's in no matter how bad it is.

Any Swarstanagah moviee is usually grahte. Even aftah I watch tha moviee you can know hwan thing. I'LL BE BAHCK to tha moviee theeter.

In all seriousness, I think that it was all a simulation, but regardless, it was a good movie (not his best, but good).
