Or, more precisely, getting Ico to work. Got it last Christmas for a present. I'm just NOW actually trying it out. It's a blue PS2 disk. No matter what I try, I can't get it to work. What annoys me is that it's like the only way to play the game I think. Um, I have a pretty old PS2. Can't remember the year I got it, but it's like 5-6 years old probably. As much as I wanna play Ico, I really don't wanna get the PS2 repaired or anything. Too much of a hassle. I'd rather just buy a new one. Any advice?

EB games was selling ps2s for real cheap last I checked.

Some of the old PS2 consoles are racist, and won't play the blue discs.

I'd scan for a refurbished slimline.

look on Ebay, you should find a PS2 for cheep

Nah, I don't think so Sez. I mean it is blue, and that automatically makes it weird.. but there's not a scratch on it, or anything like that. I eventually sought help on Google, and saw something about putting tape on the disc... That didn't work.

I have a bit of money stored up. I'd hate to buy a new PS2 with it when I could get something I don't already have (a PSP!!), but I just might have to, for the sake of an artsy videogame.

could it be that it is a wrong format,
do US discs have different discs to the UK?

Yes. US and Japan use NTSC, I believe, and everywhere else uses the PAL format.

I dont think we are PAL format( UK),
maybee thats what it is,
maybee its a English disc.

did you know that video tapes in the US are smaller or bigger (cant remember) then the ones over here.I bought a video tape once and tryed to shove it in, but it wouldnt take it because it was a yanky tape.

i had this problem once. as was stated earlier, old chunky PS2's are racist, and refuse to play blue discs. that happened to mine right before it broke permanently, then i got a slimline, and ive not had a problem since. apart from myy wee bro leaving the discs for FFVII lying out, now cant get past Cosmo Canyon on the first disc -_-

I have my old 'chuncky' PS2 and it plays my blue disks such as Gauntlet: Dark Legacy

How long does this take because I've had it since it came out.

its one of the first signs of it breaking. for me it took about 3 years. but i have got a friend who's in the same place you are.
