Last night I had a dream that I was chocking a kid (not to harm, to teach a lesson) until I broke something in his neck, killing him.
Does anyone else get disturbing dreams like this?

Ditto here,

from a certain scene in the game. It was awesome! ;D
I can only remember a few...
-I was Cloud doing omnislash on sephiroth at the end of FFVII
-I was Snake destroying REX at the end of MGS
-I was Leon shooting some zombies in RE2
-I was Link fighting Ganon in OoT
but the most awesome of them all was (Dudebro is gona kill me) :
- I Falcon Punched Black Shadow in epic fassion
If only I could have these dreams again... :(

That reminds me, when I was a kid I had a dream I found tons of NES games. I almost cried when I woke up.
About 6 months ago I had a dream that lettuce was oozing out of my eyes. I had to slowly pull it out and more kept coming like a Kleenex box. A week later I had a dram that there was this little sickly looking boy - like in the Sally Shutters adopt a child commercials - and he had pumpkin seeds embedded in his face and they would move in and out as he breathed.
Both dreams were so realistic and vivid and horribly disgusting that the images still disturb me.

Your guys' dreams you think are real reminds me of a couple of nights ago. A friend and myself are going to Japan in June and have everything planned out and paid for and all that. I had a dream he left a message on my phone that said "Hey man, something came up and I can no longer go to Japan." I woke up super mad, and I called him and yelled at him. He probably thinks I am insane now.

I very rarely ever have nightmares, but I do have horror movie type dreams often. I have always had the ability to control most dreams for some reason, so I am normally the hero (I'm not sure what this says about my Id, but there you go). Maybe I am brain damaged or something because many of my dreams seem to defy what is and is not supposed to be able to happen in dreams.
I also used to have dreams that would have credits at the end. There were a lot of as himself as herself in the credits oddly enough. So like if myself and Gamenguru were in the dream (he's my brother and a great gamer too by the way if anyone didn't know), it would often say something like Gamenguru as himself, Winnebagel as himself.

I don't really have dreams about video games, But I had a long one last night about the drive home from saskatchewan and when I got home, The next day was my birthday so I was drove to the pawn shop like promised and bought a neo geo CD. The strange thing was that I didn't have enough money to buy both so I left the 3DO behind, I guess that means Neo Geo CD wins after all.
Like I said I don't really have dreams about games, But when I was five I seemed to have a common dream about playing a game and getting sucked into the t.v.
One other thing that creeps me out is I have had this dream since I was four or five that keeps repeating itself once a year but I forget what it is, I'll tell you all when I have that dream again :p

I have wired dreams.
I have loads of dreams about getting shot at.
sometimes i have dreams about assasination, that im a hitwoman and im on a mision.
This way before i even started listening to psycopathic records.
I beleve that dreams are trying to tell you somthing in you subconcious.
But sometimes wired things happen.
My mum told me that when her sister kathline died, the family was struggling to give the funeral she wanted. My mum then had a dream about my auntie Kathline.
In her dream, Kathline was telling my mum to look under the set of draws. The next day my mum went to my auntie Kathlines house, looked under the draws and there was money and money books celotaped underneth the draw.
Mad huh.

Anyone ever have those weird merging dreams, You know the dreams where you have one thing happening and all of a sudden you're in a different dream all together?
4 nights ago I believe, I was just in a casual life dream where it was a repeat of basically the night we had where me and my parents watched quarantine, and in the dream I went to bed and thought about the movies ending bing bang boom I'm in the ending of the movie, That scared the living crap out of me. Only difference was that once... I'm not going to give it away bassically I left the room barely at the end using the camera to kill that... that thing and then I ran down the flight of stairs knocking every one of those... things down with the camera and I found that... Secret exit and escaped out the door with some of those things chasing me. (Sorry to keep saying things I'm not ruining it for dudebro or anyone else) I then ran down the street in between two buildings to a fence blocking me from safety, So I stayed there accepting fate and as soon as those things jumped at me they were shot down, They let me out and as we were leaving I looked over to the cop who was talking to me and he was tackled down, I started flipping out that he had to be killed, and they didn't listen so I ran and next thing I knew I was awake.
Like I have said I don't really have dreams about movies or games but If it has enough influence on me the night before I will and that movie was scary.
Don't worry I'm not giving anything away it's sort of my own secret ending my mind made up. ;)

It is nice. It's not every dream but it happens often. A lot of my dreams end up with me being Ash from Army of Darkness and I can summon various weapons out of thin air. I actually had a Jason vs Ash dream which was awesome!!! But not all of the dreams are action movie oriented.
@ Steven, it's true some are just action of other kinds. Nookilicious indeed (I won't elaborate further. Children may be present.) >:D
@ Ragtag, it's true the dialogue was horrible, but the voice acting was atrocious too. In some strange way it further enhances the B horror movie feel of the game.
@ Samejamesbond, sorry dude. That would probably be bad if it happened, but I think it would be cool to have an RE dream (not a nightmare though).

I'm a notorious sleep walker. I'll sleep with my eyes open and even engage in a conversation with you while I sleep. I've been known to do weird things like get set in a 3-point stance on top of the bed and then lunge into my armoire and such.
On the flip side its very rare for me to remember my dreams.
The closest I ever came to sleepwalking was about 5 years ago. I had a dream that I was a fireman tying to put a fire out in a fire alarm factory. There was fire alarms going off everywhere. The noise was deafening. My girlfriend woke up to find me standing on the bed pissing on the buzzing alarm clock.

Those last two posts are hilarious!
I'm not sure that this is considered creepy, but it definitely illustrates that I might have a sick obsession with this website:
Over the years, I have actually had a couple of different dreams where I meet up with different RU members, almost like a reunion of sorts. In my dream, nobody looks anything like their photos or how I picture them to look. I remember most vividly that Kong looked like a 12 year old kid with a huge Charlie Brown head. Kind of weird, but kind of funny.

The other night I had a semi video game dream and I blame you guys for influencing that.
I was raiding some beach front building with some covert ops team. Some kind of fast moving zombies attacked us but we quickly destroyed them. Then all the sudden some huge statue like figures rise out of the beach. They look like Scorpion and Sub Zero from MK. At this point I can fly and I begin to shoot flames from my right hand in an attempt to kill the statues. Obviously this doesn't work so I go past them and find some powerups(like flashy 8 bit ones) being tended to by this girl who has the hots for me irl. She's not very pretty so in my dream she's like Igor from Frankenstien as she tends to the powerups. She's the only person I spare because I feel bad. Then I woke up.
Shooting flames from my hand was cool and I remember it vividly. Other than that it was just weird.

Yeah, that would suck. I don't recall having those, but I have heard of other people having those. A girlfriend of mine used to get those all the time and the trying to escape something and only running in place ones. The scariest dream I can recall is one when I was maybe 13 and there was a werewolf with red eyes that I could not seem to move away from.
I sometimes have sad dreams (losing someone), but not really the scary ones so much.

When Oblivion first came out I played that game like it was a religion. I had some of the craziest dreams. It was very disturbing. Last year when I was in college I would stay up all night with friends trying to figure out our physics bonus sheet.(which was a 6 week paper not mandatory with 8 questions on it). I swear I would dream up a damn good theory on some of these questions and it all was threw oblivion. I actually came up with correct answers through dreams.
Well what my teacher taught us and what I learned is thought and reality are the same thing and our brain can not seem to tell the diffrerence. EXAMPLE: Look at your keyboard...well when you do that signals are sent all through your body from your brain telling it what it sees and how to react. Everyone knows that. Well now close your eyes and think of the keyboard and the exact electrical signals from the exact points in your brain are going off relating that information the same as if your eyes were open. Science has proven this to be true with the Double Slit Experiment. It's quite amazing and the way Chris Langan speaks of it is mind blowing.
Hearing it or reading it from Chris Langan is the way to go. Smartest man in the world IQ=210

Well I looked it up and I was right:
Wikipedia:
Nick and Philippe's special ops team, surreptitiously followed by Audrey and her cameraman Victor "Animal" Palotti (Hank Azaria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hank_Azaria)), track through the subway (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_Subway) tunnels to Madison Square Garden (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madison_Square_Garden), where they find over 200 eggs. While the team plants explosives, the eggs begin to hatch and the baby Godzillas begin to feed on the fish left for them. When the fish run out, they begin hunting the team. After failing to contain the babies and losing several members of the team, Nick, Philippe, Animal and Audrey take refuge in a TV broadcast booth. Believing that the babies will eventually force humanity into extinction if they escape, Nick, Audrey and Animal alert the authorities, who order an immediate strike by a trio of F/A-18 Hornets (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F/A-18_Hornet). The four escape just seconds before the building is destroyed, and the babies are wiped out in the explosion.

These were old dreams I had when I was little.
1. My mom was dragging me to this scary tiger thing.
2. My mom got turned into a killer robot.
3. My parents bedroom had Lord Liquorish (I think thats how you spell the candy thing) from Candy Land, (I was little, I used to love it.) in it, and I was held hostage and then my sister came in and was beaten up.
4. The probably soothing, or at least calm dream I had was when I was at a party, I was just looking around, when I went down this road when I found myself in a room, it had a little bed, a tv, and an N64, I was playing it until I woke up. (It was a family party, I had the dream when I was 6 or 7.)

After the fall of civilization
when all glows green with radiation
I run for my life, barely able to catch my breath
from crazy men who seek my death
- They have gone Mad Max all the way
Into the carcass of what used to be a hotel
lots of places to hide, I can rest a spell
running down stairs the wind whistles through my hair
only there are no stairs anymore - they collapsed a long time ago
all that's left is the carpet
loops of carpet from floor to floor
Closer now I hear weapons report
I know my time is really short
bullets hitting things in front of me as I run
nevermore will I see the sun

Looks like that Penguin from Club Penguin. Or that thing that holds up that sign to say what system and stuff you're using in your sig.
I was about 7 or 8 years old when I had a dream that felt so real. My grandmother would stay at my house from time to time and I found comfort at night by her side.
It was like anyother night. She fell asleep on a sofa in the living room and I sleept on the floor next to her. As I lay there next to her, I found myself waking up because of a stange sound. It sounded like a scratch of some sort, so I looked around and saw that everything was normal. Then I felt a sharp tug on my leg. I looked down to my feet and saw a stange, wrinckeld gray hand grabbing my leg from under the couch next to my grandmother. I could feel the firm grip that would not let go even after I started to kick at it. I tried to call my grandmother, but she lay there asleep, oblivious to what was happening to me. It was as though I was too far for my voice to be heard. I could not even hear myself scream.
The hand finally managed to drag me under and all I saw was darkness with a bit of light too far away for me to reach. It was cold and dark. I felt two hands grab me from behind and I felt like I was falling back. Just as I was about to see the light disapear, I felt a warm touch take hold of my hand. I was being pulled out of the darkness and saw that my grandmother was now sitting next to me. She asked me how I got under the couch. I told her about my dream. I told her that it was like it really happend. It didn't feel like a dream.
The creepy part about this was that I was nowhere near strong enough to lift the couch up, and the only way I could fit under the couch was for it to be lifted so my head could fit thru. After telling my grandmother what happend, she touched my forehead and said a prayer. I never had a dream of that caliber ever since.
Now that I think about it, it sounds like I had a "night terror".

Just remember:
they are only dreams, and you are having them because of something in your metabolism making your mind do funny things, that's all.
In any event I find it easier to look on the dream as a 'show' of sorts, and then maybe you won't feel so scared if the 'show' is on again another night.
Alternatively, if it's a good dream, maybe you will want to call it back again..

I just had a creepy dream where I was giving my friend hell about the Xbox360, and how Wii was selling more and had more exclusive games, so later on we go over to his house, his mom makes him sweep the basement or something odd, so I offer to help him. In his basement there was a bed-like ceiling. As we clean it I don't notice how the area I'm in's part of the ceiling is slowly lowering. Eventually I notice the ceiling is right above me and it knocks me down. I attempt to crawl to my friend, but I can't do that so I shout to him. Unfortunately, since the bed-like surface is so full of dust I cannnot talk, or even breath. Everything blacked out and I woke up.
Here's what I find creepy. Right before I checked my phone for the time the numbers 5:58 appeared in my head as if they were displayed on my phone, so I check the phone to get the time and it says 5:59.

I dreamt that I was at a coloseium-type of building with my merry-gang-of-followers, among them many childrens(more on that later) There were four champions to fight and for some reason we only fought three, ending up becoming friends with the fourth one.
The first scary part was the childrens behavior: they were sad and worried when the fourth champion told us his life-story(which I have forgotten, ofcource), until they were told told to leave which they promtly did with one of the older followers. He called for them to come back, but they didn't care at all. It was like they couldn't care.
The second scary part was when we left the coloseium and the age of of the fourth champion accelerated and he turned to a heap of bones.
Fin.
Reading thru the topic, I can not fail to notice that there seems to be a cultural difference going on here: Your American dreams are all about being super-heroes and stuff, while my Swedish dreams are typical every-day situations turned insane. Not that I didn't expect it to be a cultural difference; It just became so obvious.
Also: who can feel heat and cold in their dreams? It has happend to me, I think, twise now. It still feels like I am in a bubble when I'm experiencing the dream-world, though.

Well... I'm not sure on the part that Americans have more to do with superhero stuff. Also it depends on what you mean with Americans. On my behalf... being Mexican and therefore part of America... I have all types of weird dreams.
Once I had a romantic dream that I was in a very nice street.. was night and there was a long wall made of one rock with many holes on it, and the lights were very romantic... and I kinda jumped onto the wall and became a squirrel. Running around the wall I met another squirrel (a boy) and we fell in love and ran to the other end of the wall and I can't remember if I jumped out of the wall or if I woke up, but that was it.
Not very superhero, not everyday... sometimes I dream I'm Buffy... when I was smaller I dreamt I was Fran Fine from the Nanny... I have also dreamed I'm ugly Betty (the original Colombian version), and many many times I'll dream I'm at school, or that I have to do something at school, or that I'm driving around.
I can't really talk about the creepiest dream I've every had... most are so weird I'm not sure which are actually creepy, also with the years my "scary" dreams have become more violent and I'm a lot less scared of them and I would have and I was little.
I have one dream that could be seen as creepy. In my dreams there are these monsters that hide in shadows and are a mixture of vampire and zombie. In this particular dream, I was walking down the street with my boyfriend (who in the dream was my husband) and our kid (who as a teenager). We were trying to find a safe place before dark and we kept finding people on the streets that needed help so we told them to join us. All the while passing by building with dark garages and trying not to get grabbed by the monsters inside. All of the sudden some more people show up and we are now running because it's about to be night, and our kids gets left behind a little trying to help some this new group of people and we tell him it's alright that we know he'll catch up. So we get in a building because we can't keep looking for a place to hide. I can't remember what floor we were on, but it didn't have an elevator, and the stairs were narrow and there was only one door leading to the stairs. The apartment was huge (as in tall) with tall windows so we had to cover them up so the monsters couldn't come in, but everyone was scared and I had to organize them while my "husband" took care of the door. Then the monsters started coming up the stairs so my "husband" and I had to fight them will I left the rest of the people in charge of covering the windows. So there I am, hitting as many monsters as I can, all the time watching more and more monsters coming up and knowing we are the only chance for the people inside to survive because they are all scared to death. I think at one point we actually had weapons... maybe a knife... when all of the sudden our kid, who turned into a very smart monster, starts coming up the stairs. The stairs by the way are covered with dead bodies of all the monsters we've been killing. So my "husband" tells me he will take care of our kid since there is no other choice. All of the sudden I'm my "husband" fighting out kid. Our kid dies, and the dream goes one with more fighting up until I woke up.

Being able to see yourself cut open is never good... it actually reminded me of a dream I had many years ago...
In my dream, for some reason my leg had a huge cut, and I could see all the muscles, no bone, but because of the depth of the cut I should have been able to see them. For some reason I wanted to hid the cut so I used it as a play house. I but a tiny bed and I can't remember what else. The dream went by fast and the cut got "smaller" and then I forgot about it, and when I remembered it was almost completely closed and the bed was still in there. A few nights ago, after I got a long cut up my leg, I had a dream that my leg had been torn away, all the way through. It was my lower leg, and I could actually see the gap through both bones, and my leg was infected, the muscle fiber was yellowing and the skin was black. I showed it to my mom, much like the real cut I had gotten, and asked "Does this look bad?" and in the dream, much like reality, she just said "Nah, it's nothing." and so I just limped back to the chair and sat down. In the morning I had to check if I was, in fact, losing my leg.

I think the dream had something to do with the days when I used to drink {alcohol}because I remember some sort of party taking place.

Yeah, don't worry about losing in your dreams. I've kicked zombie/vampire/monster butt many times, but I've been shoot in the chest protecting my dad, I've been stabbed on the back by Death, once I died, not entirely sure how, and instead of my dream ending I became a ghost. I've dreamt I could fly, only to be chased by two old lady's, and being trapped and told I could never fly again. Oh, and once I jumped from the mouth of one shark to another trying not to get eaten while they told me how much they wanted to eat me, one of them even had lipstick.
About the stain on the sheets... I can't believe I'm admitting this... once I dreamt I had to go to the bathroom very badly. Imagine my surprise when I woke up and found out it hadn't only been a dream...

upon entering a Stadium at some event, someone kills me from behind just as I get into the place, and I die.
Well, NOW I can be ready for him when the time comes!

The worst I've had lately is a dream of standing in front of a desk where two random people were doing random paperwork, and I had my pants down for some reason, with my underwear exposed.
They just sat there, doing their paperwork and whispering to one another while giving me strange looks {but neither of them bothered to tell me, like I was standing there doing that on purpose or something} and eventually I realized what was going on, and when I went to pull my pants back up, I could hear people all around me laughing, and laughing.

Something creepy happened to me last night. I don't know what I was dreaming about, it had to do with Bleach because I remember shinigamis. The creepy part was that I was kinda a wake and the dream took over my mind, and although I can't remember anything from it, except black robes, it was very loud in my head. Not loud as in noisy, loud as in I felt my brain would explode from concentrating on it so much. Then when I woke up my head hurt, I was very thirsty and there was this very annoying sound, which ended up being a mosquito. I felt so overwhelmed by the dream it took me almost an hour to fall asleep again, even though I was very tired.

I had 2 strange dreams for 2 Nights in a row.
The first night, I had a dream that was a sequel to that strange Ninja/T-Rex in Madison Square
Garden dream (even though I died in that dream). In this dream I was hailed a hero for my
action, the only problem is, the creatures child hatched and wreaked havic in NYC. It turned
out the creature feeds and grows on electricity, and the child survivied only because a worker
left a battery at Madison Square Garden. Even though it did grow larger and more grotesque
than the parent (It looked like the monster from the Host), I was able to finish it.
The second dream was a dream that I was Squall Leonhart (I mentioned my first dream that
happened before) and I was hired to kill a bunch of purple dragons (that looked like giant
Lockheeds from the Marvel Comics) but it turns out they aren't evil because they saved Laguna
Loire's life and Laguna asks me to call off the job. The action was intense, it reminded me of the
Left 4 Dead series, with all of those Dragons attacking at once.

I had a dream that I was on a frozen lake with my cat tied at the end of a fishing pole. A rhino sized half dog-half seal tore through the ice and I thought it was incredible. I said to some other people "man you're not gonna see that in your life again". Unfortunately it turned out that the creature was going for my cat. I started to run away and keep the cat safe but I accidently bounced it off the side of a mountain, causing it to swing towards the creature. There was a hard pull and a fast chomp and the cat was gone. The furry beast swam off, tearing through the ice. I then woke up and felt it was somewhat real, but was relieved to see my cat walking about.

I've probably mentioned this before, but:
I rarely dream, and when I do, they are all messed up.
Recently I had a dream where I got attacked by some guy who ripped himself out of my friend, like he tore open his skin, and the guy was there inside.
For the most part, the dreams are vivid and graphic, with all the blood and gore that would be present in a practical situation. If someone loses their arm in one of my dreams, they bleed out at a normal rate.
This is why it is good that I don't dream, they are just too messed up to deal with.

So here is a question I want answered. When you dream, can you see yourself or are you looking through your own eyes?
For me, I am usually looking through my own eyes, but sometimes it's like I'm looking through my own eyes to see me doing whatever. But it isn't like I'm an omnipotent being, but rather myself watching myself, as if in a mirror.
I have also heard that you can't read in your dreams, but I am pretty sure that you can. I am almost sure I have done it before.
You can't read in the traditional sense of the word. Anything you dream is based in your memory, your thoughts and the sounds around you {this is why when a phone rings while you are dreaming, your dream might involve a similar sound, this keeps you asleep through many sounds}, and so you can only read something you've read before. If I were to pick up the newspaper in my dream, it would be random parts of newspapers I've read in the past, and so it would be disjointed. If you were to pick up a book you hadn't completed in your dream, you would be capable of reading what you've already read {even if you don't remember it word for word, your mind can recreate the image of the page}, and if you pass that point, you'd likely see blank pages, or random bits of text you'd seen in life. That being said, anything you read in a dream, will be unreliable, as memory is flawed at best.
nikegirl2012
08-23-2010, 03:53 PM
I can see myself in many ways when I dream, so sometimes I see myself, mostly from behind or sideways.
I have "solved" math problems in my dreams, and studied french, and fixed a bug in a program... so I think it depends on the person. Although most of the time when I "read" it's just gibberish
Demon-Mask
08-23-2010, 03:57 PM
And the solutions to the bugs and what not were already in your thoughts at the time {they just needed to be found}. The mind cannot compose a book for you to read as you are dreaming, because of the dynamic nature of dreams, the book would have to be written as you read it, meaning that it was just made up as it goes along.
I guess it is possible to come up with a solution, now that I think of it, but the problem would have still been something you'd encountered before.

That's even scarer than the dream about the guy being stuck underneath the couch.
But I haven't had an "In Between".
Last night I had 3 dreams (yes all in one night, has anyone else had that happen
before?) and they were each epic in themselves.
The first one was EPIC, I was at the "Drive-In at Night" Stage watching Rufus and
Ken duking it out for U.S. Martial Arts champion. Ken Shinyukened Rufus for the
win, and then gave me his autograph and told me good luck.
Similar to this:
YouTube - Super Street Fighter 4: Ken Rival Match
The second one is harder for me to remember, but I remember being the Master
Cheif completely destroying an enitre army of soliders without firing a shot.
Ironicly, I used Ken's techniques to defeat the soliders, as if the first dream trained
me for the second one.
The third one was me on a lobster boat on the hudson river as Frank West.
Filming up close a fight between Godzilla and King Ghidorah on the Hudson River.
As quoted by me, it was "Fantastic!"
This is all ironic because, Yesterday night before I went to bed, I was playing
Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers on RU (as Ken of course). I also
watched an episode of Red vs. Blue, which is a Halo Machinima. Finally, I
watched several videos on YouTube, a few were Tatsunoko vs. Capcom combo
videos for Frank West and another was the trailer for the upcoming 2012 Godzilla
movie.
Amazing what you do before you go to bed can affect your sleeping patterns.

One dream a remember rather vividly, happened when I fell asleep without knowing I fell asleep. I was in my basement, laying on my mattress {it was too hot to sleep elsewhere in the house} and I was looking at the chair. I started seeing a ton of movement under the leather part of the chair {between the frame and leather} and so I was curious and I decided not to look away. Suddenly a tear appeared in the leather and cockroaches started pouring out, hundreds of them, and the tear got bigger and bigger until the leather was entirely gone, and I could see that the frame of the chair itself was now made of cockroaches. I still didn't realize it was a dream, so naturally I started freaking out, my dad woke me up, and he was pretty mad because apparently he was asleep and I woke him up.

I have been in between... and I really hate it. It happened this morning. My eyes wouldn't fully open so I could see my room but I couldn't move. I could feel my hands and my feet but they wouldn't respond. I wanted to wake up and was aware of my surroundings but I couldn't get my body to answer. I did manage to stick my tongue out and move it from side to side and finally managed to totally wake up. This happens a lot to me, mostly when I take naps. There comes a point where I want to wake up but can't, and if I relax I fall asleep again.
Multiple dreams in one night are common for me. Although it's been a while since I can recall all of them, well, I mean as in being able to remember what they were about. Lately I can only remember a person who was in it or a place. Once I dreamt I was in a weird maze place and suddenly I was back at the beginning of the maze but now there where 2 of me and one already knew more or less the way out... it happened several times... I remember easily 6 me's trying to find the way out and each knew a different path.

Has anyone here experienced the in between? It's where your dreaming but still aware of your surroundings.
This situation is where most "Alien abductions" come from. The brain inhibits motion by causing a form of paralysis. This only sets in while you are asleep, and it is to stop you from doing with your body, what is happening in your dream, so you don't end up falling down the stairs and breaking your neck or something dumb like that.
This state is not perfect in function, and if you are lucid in this state, you are either forced to wake up or fall asleep again. Falling asleep again is the best option, and what your brain attempts to make you do. So, as you are loosing lucidity, your subconscious mind must take reign over the conscious mind, and thus the realms of dream and reality collide for a moment.
The way you perceive this sleep paralysis is generally based upon what you are told it is. Some cultures depict it as a "Night-Mare" {an evil, soul stealing horse}, or a hag that sits upon your chest to consume you. Some people end up perceiving it as an alien abduction, and I always get the fat guy on my chest. It just isn't fun.
In one country, where a disease known as "Sudden Nocturnal Death Syndrome" is very common, sleep paralysis is considered to be an ill-omen signifying that you are going to die in your sleep very soon.

I had a dream not to long ago, Where I was in my home neighborhood, but it was night and it was in ruins, and wet, like it had rained recently, puddles everywhere, but some of them were on fire, I was walking around, looking for something(no clue what), when I stepped into one of the puddles and plunged into a vast expanse of water and proceeded to drown. After "blacking out" for a few moments, I seemed to be somewhere near where I started, and I started searching for that same puddle I fell into before, after searching for sometime, I wandered across it, and jumped into it, finding what seemed to be my own corpse, and embraced it gave it a prolonged kiss on the mouth, abruptly finding myself and the body on the side of the road, so I laid the body down, stood up, and walked into a fire and was engulfed in flame, then I was fine again, but I was in something flying(reminded me of a helicopter), that suddenly got hit by something and crashed in a burning wreck, although I was thrown from it, I managed to survive that, a bloodied mess. Then I was promptly eaten alive by birds and dogs, before finally waking.
This is one of the few dreams I've had that honestly had disturbed me in a long time

Last night, my dream was kind of disturbing, but not in the gory way most of mine are.
I was out in some neighborhood for no apparent reason, I must have been lost. In reality, I know my way around that neighborhood to a decent extent, but in my dreams it is much, much different. The layout is impossible to remember.
It was getting kind of dark, and it became apparent that there was no way I was going to get out of this labyrinth of a neighborhood. So I went to a random house, and knocked on the door. The guy who lived there, probably near forty-five welcomed me in. Something about this guy was disturbing, it was hard to place. I think it may have been his clown makeup, which had actually stained his skin, and so it was faded, but still blatantly there. He said: "You see that, kid? That is the couch. Feel free to sleep there, I don't mind. I leave for work early, so I'll try not to wake you."
I was tired, so I accepted.
The guy accidentally woke me up in the morning, he was dressed rather fancily, like a business man. He apologized and said "Now, I'll return from work in a few hours, keep yourself busy how you see fit, but don't make a mess."
So I think I just sat on the couch the whole day, until he returned.
He went right to bed when he got home, and I followed suit, I guess I was tired.
In the morning, he saw I was awake before him, and he started dancing and singing in his pajamas, it was weird. Eventually he left the living room, and came out a few minutes later dressed for work. More singing and dancing.
So I sat around the house until he returned, and when he did return, I asked if it was okay for me to go outside.
So I did. I just wandered around the neighborhood for hours and hours. I heard the clock strike ten, I guess I hadn't realized I'd been outside for so long. It was getting dark, and I started running back towards his house, or so I'd assumed, seeing as I had no idea where I was.
It was down a hill, and I got their soon, but something about the look of the house disturbed me, so I went around the side of it, looking to sleep in the back yard. So I did, but as I walked past the side of the house, I looked into one of the windows, the one that was his room, which I had not seen. And there he was... hanging. I thought he was dead. I just went out into the back yard and slept.
Morning came, as did time for the man to depart for work, and he did just that. I turns out he hadn't killed himself, but rather he just slept that way. I inquired about it upon his return.
He had this to say:
"Now kid, I know this is going to seem strange to you, but I'm dead. The makeup on my face, the stains, are from long ago. I worked in the circus, and I had hanged myself, and it killed me. No one ever found out, but somehow I was just awake... alive. I don't know how I managed to do so, but I cut myself down, and washed my face, started life anew. Now the reason I hang myself at night, is more of a comfort thing than anything else. It's not significant, but that was how I was for years and years, so my body became accustomed to it, it's the only way I can sleep anymore."
And then I woke up.
I don't know how it was disturbing, but the things leading up to me finding him hanging bugged me worse.

I had another weird dream (I'm on a roll) last night. I was in the Museum of Natural History (where I used to volunteer) only this time, a parasitic plant is attacking everyone and returning them into zombies. In the dream I was Leon Kennedy from the Resident Evil series and the plants looked like the plant monster in RE2.
After fighting threw wave after wave of zombies and mutant plants, I made it to the host plant and I set it on fire with a flame thrower.
I have no idea why I'm having so many dreams recently, it must be because of college.

Am I the only one with dreams laid out as movies?
Nope, sometimes mine follow the Hollywood 'formula' painfully, and even include the cheesy 'mood' score once in a while.
Funny how I always curse Hollywood out and yet continue to watch their crud - to the point that it invades my dreams.
Could this be what happened to you, too?

My dreams never follow any rules. The "filmdreams" are just a few scenes: Me riding the bus, me walking with a girl and me talking to a girl. Fin.
But I do have a set of standard locations that appears often in my dreams, and sometimes I dream a quater of a dream one night and the rest of it some other night.

All of my dreams are in a messed up version of Spokane, WA, the place I live, some things are turned around, some streets are in the wrong places, roads lead to places it would be impossible for them to go, like driving west, and ending up at a place that should be North East. Some parts of the town in my dreams don't exist, and some parts of the real town don't exist withing the dreams. Even the insides of houses are messed up, that take on my town is almost impossible to navigate it, but it is rare that I get lost in my dreams, I just know how the town works.

Really? Almost none of my dreams take place in anything remotely close to where I live, they usually are strange places, some of them familiar, like a school I used to go to, or the one about the floor eating my in my old house, but those are only occasional.

If I didn't know Spokane so well, I wouldn't know that my dreams take place here.
It is so far removed from how it really looks, it is almost impossible to tell it is the same city.
This is a portion of Spokane:

I know I fail at editing, but this is pretty accurate as to what I might see.

A few nights ago, I had a couple dreams.
One of them was where I was sitting in an arcade, which was very dark and completely empty except for a Guitar Hero arcade game, and an old woman playing it. Even though she was barely strumming, she managed to score around 300,000 before quitting.
Then, I had a dream where there was an empty room. It was daytime. I was watching a woman step on a switch, which caused spikes to pop out of the floor. She started screaming very badly, like she was in a bad movie, complete with bad blood effects and a voice which sounded like someone was reviewing a movie, so it must have been a movie.

last time was around 4-5 years ago. It was wierd drving around collecting fares in insane
fasions. Maybe I am deprived of video games so much my subconcious craves it.

I'm glad you caught this video game deficiency before it became serious.
The final stages of the syndrome are arthritis - like knurling of the hands followed by constant involuntary repetition of saying the words:
'Game over'
until the victim dies.
On topic:
I had a really strange and disturbing dream where:
I went into the washroom, picked up the toilet from its usual place and put it down a short distance away on the floor, and 'used' it.
Then as I began to flush I suddenly remembered it was in the wrong place and quickly picked it up and put it back where it should be = before 'anything' came out.
REALLY weird, and extremely real.
As I woke from this dream I was still wondering why the heck I would have moved it in the first place ... or what this dream could have been 'about'.

Two more dreams to add to the list
The first one I dreamed this Monday, but I forgot to post it. It was a simole dream, just me in
elementary school, with no video game references this time. First time I had a normal dream in
a long time.
The second one was a little wierder. I was a Private Eye investigating the murder of Sagat from
Street Fighter. After collecting evidence, I cleared Ryu, Chun-Li, Balrog, and Vega. I would
then find out, Adon killed him because he wanted to becoe the best Muai Thai Kickboxer in
the world. We have a Street Fight (I was using Ken's Moves) and I wasable to take him out.

I had another wierd dream last night, I was a police officer investigating a satanist cult that was
involved in a string of murders. Inventually I did find the cult's base, but after a fuge fist fight, I
was captured and put on a table.
The then proceeded to slit my throat, which you'd think be scary, but I experienced no pain.
This nightmare was EXTREMELY convienient beacause I had a test today and my alarm clock
was off, although I woke up a half an hour late, I was still able to make the test, which was very
easy.
Who knew nightmares could be a good thing?

Two more dreams last night.
The first one was in a destroyed city, and I stole a car to get my younger brother to safety.
I would get arrested, but the cops let me go because they knew I was doing it for the right
reasons, and my brother made it out okay.
The second one was extremely wierd. The dream had me as Ken Masters fighting Rufus after
Rufus gained some god-like power. He was 20 feet tall and was shooting fire at me. But
after some tidious fighting, I took down the wierd Rufus. He was pissed that even after he got all that
power, he couldn't defeat Ken Masters, and I was giving him a look because he almost killed me.

Another wierd dream last night, only this one was pretty awesome. In this dream I was Soma
Cruz from the Castlevania series. This time Shadaloo was after me because of my unusual
powers inside some unknown forest.
Bison sent some of his dolls to capture me with some supresant cables only problem was is, I
could fly, shoot lasers out of my hands, and I could throw things as heavy as cars. After taking
out all of the dolls (like Juli and Juni) I faced M. Bison. I asked him, do you plan to take over
the world, he replied "Of Course!"
After a long fight, I defeated M. Bison, and I was approached and thanked by Genya Arikado
(Alucard) for stopping Bison.
These dreams have no end. I even played some Street Fighter to prevent these dreams, yet
they still come back. Wierd, huh?
By the way, I got an 87 on my exam.

They were both a mix of first and third person.
It was cool picking up cars and using them as weapons in the Soma dream, the power I had
was pretty godly.

Another dream last night (they just keep coming), this time I was in New York City eating at a
resturant with some friends, video taping everything, when the power goes out and we are told
to evacuate the city. While we were on the Brooklyn Bridge, a giant tail appears ond destroys
it (sounds familiar?) and kills all of my friends, but I was lucky to survive.
After fleeing around in the city, things began to seem familiar to me, like when I was in a video
store, all the reports looked the same. Eventually, after a close-encounter with the monster, I
realized this was a dream recreating Cloverfield (I even encountered the main characters in the
video store).
Remembering it attacks the southern Central Park/Columbus Circle area, I hot-wired a taxi cab
and fled along the east side and made it to Yonkers, which is north of the City.
These dreams never end do they?

I once dreamt about colonist families who were moving to the fronteir. They dug around their house, and found a pile of pterodactyl fossils. The next day the fossils come to life, and attempt to eat the family. I don't remember how exactly, but they destroyed the fossils.
Off course, it was a short lived victory, for the next week, werewolves plagued them, and eventually at them all while they were all sleeping...

There's Aqua, which was originally just a guy in a brown robe with a hood standing at a beach, then it cut to the final battle where they were fighting a large sea snake (like Leviathan in FFIV), and Lucius Malfoy.

Two more wierd dreams.
The first one was in a warehouse full of zombies and I was in what looked like a
gameshow because you had to get the most points. In the end I won because I through some
oxygen tanks at the zombies and blew it up with a cable attached to a taser.
The second one was really wierd (from what I remember). People were worshiping a
photograph of the original leader of Communist China (Mao something), but it turns out it was
actually possessed by his spirit and sent people to attack me because I'm a capitalist.
The wierd part wan't Mao himself, but the way people were acting with strange rituals and
strange manerisms. (They talked very slured for example.)
Another wierd part is, I couldn't speak Chinese, but I could read the subtitles.

I had a really weird dream last night... my 1 year old cousins (a boy and a girl) were pregnant and had a baby each. I wasn't present for the boy's delivery but I had to help the baby girl deliver her baby... only she looked a couple of months old and not a year old... and well... the creepiest part was her vagina which could be pulled back and you could see the muscles on her body. Right there and then I freaked out, I put it back to how it should be and with one push the baby came out and I could see the cord (which had a weird yellow part) and everything. Real nasty, no one knew how the babies where pregnant, or how on Earth the boy gave birth. Woke up shortly after that... Not really happy to remember it now after forgetting all about it all day...

This one was weird:
I was walking around downtown, and I suddenly found myself being taunted by some guy with a knife. He proceeded to stab me in my cheek, at which point I got the knife away from him and stabbed him in his stomach, then I twisted it and stomped on his face a few times after he fell to the ground. I walked to the hospital, and when asked as to the nature of my problem I said: "I have a stomach ache, what the hell do you think is wrong with me?" as my face is bleeding and I make an odd hissing sound as I speak because of the whole in my face.
Then I called my mom and said I was at the hospital with a stomach ache and I was fine, and I told her not to come down.
I also, for some reason chose to forgo any kind of anesthetic as my face was being sewed shut.
I was later arrested for murder, and I didn't put up a fight, they had my DNA, some witnesses and video from a security camera.
Then I woke up.
That was a very unpleasant dream.

But I never played DR2, which makes it even more wierd.

Two more wierd dreams last night.
The first one was really wierd because of how inconsistant it was. For some reason, I was Alex
from the SFIII games on the day of the release of Marvel vs Capcom 3 in New York City, and
all of a sudden the Illuminati guys from the SFIII series apeared and attacked everyone. So I
began defending everyone there with my Suplexes and Powerbombs. I also remember there
being a huge lightning storm above which were quite a sight to see. Eventually I got up to Gill
(the final boss of the SFIII games), but I still lost and the next morning they threw me out of a
plane without a parachute. That was pretty scary, but at the same time epic seeing the world
getting closer and closer. In the end I landed on a car and my body exploded in a thousand
pieces. But at least I was able to play MvC3 in my dream, and I destroyed my opponent with a
team of Dante, Deadpool, and Frank West.
Now that I think of it, Comic-con is in NYC tommorow, and maybe this is a foreshadowing of
Frank West being an announced character tommorow!
The second dream had me playing some wierd 3D video game that was just like Castlevania
(In fact, I was playing as Alucard), but then at the end of the level it switched to a 2D shooter
like Gradius and I barely won because of how many shots were coming from the enemy. Then
for some reason it says I won and a Turbo-Graphix 16 came out. Wierd...
At least the Turbo-Graphix 16 had some awesome games.
