Today I (finally) got a Game Boy Light (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n02/dmg/hardware/light/index.html), basically the Game Boy Pocket 1.5, which featured an electroluminescent backlight like that of an Indiglo watch (http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/gadgets/clocks-watches/question296.htm). It was released in April of 1998, and only in Japan, because the Game Boy Color would come out six months later. But I've always wanted the GBL -- I thought it was just plain neat, and loved any way to make my favorite portable system more portable. And green is my favorite color, so I find the light rather soothing. This will definitely be getting some use in the near future... starting with bedtime.
