View Full Version : Should RU report news pertaining to retro games?

I'm referring to short news snippets such as Virtual Console releases and remakes/sequels.

I voted yes but it would have to be important/interesting news. If not then people will start ignoring it and then miss anything good that's posted later.
Quality over quantity basically.

Well on one hand we could always vote on what specific stories are newsworthy. The problem with that is by the time the voting's finished it might no longer be news.

I'd think the best practice would be to decide what types of news are worthy. Then if one things fits into those catagories it can be posted.

@ninjatiamat: Well it would be a team effort on the SuperMod's part (meaning Dudebro, Kong, Sabby, and myself) as only they and admins can post homepage material anyways.

It can also be automated if there is a news source that we think always gives good info such as IGN. And then a mod can delete the bad news stories.

Yep. Kong will have to work out the logistics so that maybe the most current headline appears on the home page.

It sounds like a good idea although I'm not extremely interested in it. Like Data at the beginning it should be good news or ppl will not pay attention to it.

But news like.......on this day blah blah Tempest was released,on this day blah blah Battlezone came out,on this day blah blah the creator of Slither was hit by a bus.

More "Historical" Retro information, I would be into.

I agree. Now if we could find someone to take charge of that project. Maybe it could be incorporated into the Game Club.

As an archive in its own section or something it would make sense, but in general it seems that any game news is immediately posted in a new thread of its own regardless.
I'm just sayin'.
