Favorite Music

[DoctorRyanB1]

Just so I can get to know everybody a little better I was wondering what kind of music you guys like. I'm pretty open to everything (except maybe disco). But my favorite band has to be Nickleback. I listen to country, classic rock, metal, and pop. Some hip-hop to. Favorite song right now is Apologize by One Republic.

[Kugyince]

Mostly Indie, Blues, Jazz, and Folk.

[TrakMastaTom]

My current rotation:

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Atmosphere - Godlovesugly
Presidents of the USA - Presidents of the USA
Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers
Evidence - The Layover EP
The Good, The Bad and The Queen
J Dilla - The Shining
Doomtree - Doomtree

[Slime Slayer]

my rotation:
bob mould
zeke
illuminatti
mgmt
green river
soundgarden
pond

[Dudebro]

I don't listen to types of music I just listen to songs.

[TrakMastaTom]

Indie, Blues, Jazz, and Folk.

One of these is not a genre. Who can guess which one? ;)

[Dudebro]

Indie?

[Kugyince]

Indie, Blues, Jazz, and Folk.

A genre is a grouping of artistic items that have something in common with one another. English is a beautiful language, try learning it.

[Slime Slayer]

but then the question would be "why did you choose indie?"

[Kugyince]

I chose indie because a lot of the artists I listen to label themselves as such.

[Metricus]

I listen to some indie rock like Rise Against or The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

My Current Rotation

Shock of the Lighting ~ Oasis
I Don't Care ~ Fall Out Boy
Ulysses ~ Franz Ferdinand - new single that just came out
Second Chance ~ Shinedown
Love Hurts ~ Incubus
I'm Not Over ~ Carolina Lair
Show Me What I'm Looking For ~ Carolina Liar
Papercut ~ Linkin Park - It's one of their old ones, but I never get tired of it

My favorite bands ever would have to be Bon Jovi and The Foo Fighters. I listen to just about any type of rock except country rock those just aren't meant to be together. Sorry to anybody who likes that ;D

[TrakMastaTom]

Yo yall heard that dude Trak Masta Tom before? Dood spits straight FIYA!

:-\

[david man45]

[Stupid Flanders]

[Metricus]

I've been enjoying stuff off the new Rise Against album. They've been playing Re-education on the radio, but Collapse(Post-Amerika) is good too.

[Kugyince]

I know no one here likes the same type of music that I do but I thought I'd try anyways.

Thao Nguyen - Bag of Hammers

I heard he's a mark ass buster.

I know no one here likes the same type of music that I do
You do?

Bag of Hammers wasn't bad. I liked the video.
Boom wasn't bad either. No complaints.

@DrStupid, I like that SNL skit. **** in a box is funny too. Not sure if I can say the whole title.

Edit- I really like this song. It's got plenty of swearing but I think it needs it. It's an emotional song.
If you will be offended then don't click the link.

I heard he's a mark ass buster.

Yeah? Well I heard yo mama was a ho. :-X

[Dudebro]

I heard he's a mark ass buster.

Yeah? Well I heard yo mama was a ho. :-X

Good job keeping it old school. Not many people remember when mark ass buster and yo mama were good insults.

[Metricus]

People still say yo mama ya know. I know alot of 'em.

[Dudebro]

Yeah but it's played out now. People who still say "yo mama" jokes are either doing it mockingly or they got nothing better.
Way back when those were fighting words.

[count100]

To some of us who are older dudebro they still are fighting words. I remember that people would get pissed at me tho when they said yo momma this or yo momma that and I responded with. Yes I know whats your point. Shut them up right then and there.

[Metricus]

My friend told me that back when he was in high school a guy on the football team gave him a yo mama insult, and he replied by saying "my mama is dead." After that he said that he put his head into to his shirt sleeve, and started pretending to cry, then some girl who were watching this came over, and started beating up on the guy who insulted him. Since his head was still in his sleeve it looked like he was crying even though he was laughing really hard. He said that the dude on the football team got beat up by half the cheer leading squad.

[Timber Wolf]

I'm surprised Tenser hasn't said anything about "some girl who were watching" lol that's going a little too far for me not to say something, not because of spelling, but grammatically.

Genres I'm into are Metal, Classical(and Neo-Classical), Classic Rock, Hard Rock, some New Wave stuff is pretty good, and I really like soundtracks(especially video-game ones)

song's big in my playlist

Orion - Metallica
Cowboys From Hell - Pantera
Thunderhorse(an instrumental version) - Dethklok
The Trooper - Iron Maiden
Abra Abracadabra - Steve Miller Band
Zeppo - Sanctity
Man Made God - In Flames
If You Wish... - Mindfield (good luck finding that one, I ended up buying it, I couldn't find it free ANYWHERE)
Alone In The Dark - Testament
Eerie Inhabitants - Testament
Wasted Years - Iron Maiden
Epic - Faith No More
Mr. Crowley - Ozzy
Crazy Train - Ozzy
Imaginations From The Other Side - Blind Guardian
Bright Eyes - Blind Guardian
Outside - Staind
The Mission(1941) - Jag Panzer
Like a Stone - Audioslave
and some instrumental stuff, game themes, misc.
there's more, but I've taken up enough room(I love music, can't you tell? 8))

[Slime Slayer]

I know no one here likes the same type of music that I do but I thought I'd try anyways.

I would like to recommend the following:

Tim Fite - Over The Counter Culture

It's free for download on his website: http://www.timfite.com/otcc_download.html

It's basically a rap album making fun of rappers. And it doesn't sound like really anything I've ever heard before, and I listen to a LOT of rap music.

My favorite track is "I've Been Shot", in which Tim talks about how many times he has been shot, and how much it has benefited his career.

[TecmoFAN]

[Dudebro]

Metricus posted Weezer, I like them now but I used to be kinda meh towards them. My gf got me more exposed to it and I'm impressed with how good they are. I saw them live and they were awesome. Although they did have bright flashing siezure light shows for no reason. I'm old, leave my poor retinas alone.

Other than that the only other artists I really listen to a lot are Johnny Cash and Wierd Al. :-[

[TrakMastaTom]

New Brother Ali EP dropped yesterday.

It is awesome.
