So a famous rapper put his name on a chinese knock off emulator player that includes copyrighted ROMs without a license agrrement and he is selling it for 3 times more than the already existing exact identical chinese knock off just because his name is on the box.

I'd like to see an update on this in about 6 months. That's gotta be a law suit waiting. Maybe he can get away with it because it's based in China.

Apparently, he's already facing up to ten years jail time according to a few random sites - but he's made no mention of it himself on Twitter and the offending items are still on sale on his site so. Who knows, really?

This just seems like an increadibly dumb move. It must not have been thought out very weel. He has nothing to do with games or emulators or hardware. I don't understand how this came to be.

If anyone has updates on this in the future, I'd be curious to see them.

Well, he sooooorta does. Only by way of him being a pretty prominent Twitch streamer these past few months. He's talked about his love for gaming and such on stream a few times.

Unfortunately, it's more of a forced love than anything else.

He was featured in Indy game the movie (2012) He's definitely a gamer, or at least has some history anyway. I read an interview where he capped it off saying " I'm just a boy living out his dream" or something to that effect. Not sure what kid dreams of having their own cheap chinese handheld, but to each their own.
