Wiiu Freezing while using netflix

Title says it all really... Anyone else had this problem and figured out why? I think I've had the thing 2 and a half years, and it hasn't been used for more than 120 hours for games, and probably 100+ hours of netflix in that time.

It's Not technically in the best spot for ventilation, but not the worst either. (on top of 360 box under desk, with space to breathe).

Usually freezes in between episodes, or loading the app. Happened 3 times tonight and a few times in the past.

Mines been doin this messed up thing where the audio gets all out of whack, and makes terrible ear piercing noises every few seconds... Not experienced your issue though.

Funny you mention that, steven. My nintendo wii did the same thing months ago, again during netflix. It randomly froze making an ear piercing noise. Had to unplug it to stop it. Now it always kind of crackles in the speakers. Did a content transfer to wiiu. Don't know if that wii will live, though I have not used it in some time.

Launch Wuu is running fine I guess. Not sure since I don't have a reason to play it or anything.

Try a hard power off, unplug it, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in.

I sometimes get this problem when using the Youtube app on my WiiU. Just unplug it and it fixes it. Still get the freezing every now and then though.

Yeah, I tried unplugging it as well. It froze consistently this morning on the "This episode will begin in 20 seconds" screen. Twice.

I know my Netflix updated recently, I'd delete and reinstall.

I think the Netflix app for consoles is just terrible no matter what platform you're on, the one for my 360 tends to hang up when logging in.
