Banned Player - JCB

JCB was booted for submitting old scores. Simple as that. Not necessarily a simple mistake, but not incredibly malicious from what I can tell. He then went on to make a fool of himself with fake accounts and an apology tour that would make Mel Gibson look like a Mickey Mouseketeer. I think that hurt him more than anything in the minds of others, but I certainly can't speak for everyone.

Regardless, JCB was told he would be able to compete in Wolf tourneys when his ban was lifted, and he did so in at least one (Yolympics) without issue. He signed up for team DKF for this tournament, and was then told he is banned. I'm opening this thread to discuss whether the ban should be upheld, or if he should be allowed to join a team for IGBY2 (other than DKF, obviously). Please keep it civilized, and remember this is supposed to be a fun tournament.

Since this is the first time the rules committee has hit something similar, I'm suggesting if 6/9 or more team reps agree JCB is allowed to play, he is in (barring a Wolf veto). Anything less, we can at least tell him it was democratic.

I agree that ultimately it is up to Wolf. It is very clear that a lot of the DKF players strongly dislike him, and there is no question he cheated in the past. On the other hand he behaved reasonably well in the Yolympics for Team PNS. The guy clearly has some mental challenges so I'm willng to cut him more slack than somebody like kernzy. I'd be ok with him playing for Team PNS if CJP is willing to have him on board and Wolf is ok with it. I'd just give him the same warning I gave him during the Yolympics which was that everybody is going to be watching his play and behavior very carefully so he needs to be extra careful to follow every rule and ask questions if he didn't understand something.

The one thing I'd say is it gives Kernzy a fair bit of weight to his argument that *he*s being treated unfairly.

I just want to have fun, too.

If it's OK for Yolympics, should be OK for IGBY, it's fine by me if he is allowed to play. It's not like his scores won't be well scrutinized.

It's up to wolf, but I'd banned him (and kernzy, and any other cheater/troublemaker for that matter) for life.

It's a tricky situation as he was let into Yolympics.

I respectfully disagree. Each case should be handled separately, and Kernzy's trail of destruction was far worse IMO. More than anything, I am saying this for any future situations.

Either way, Wolf has nixed this. Let's go back to playing games, people!
