my 360 started the red ring thing, the three segments go red when you turn it on and nothing works :'( im so annoyed, because Microsoft should have known how to stop this from happening before it became a big issue-_-

acctually that happened to me call microsoft at 18004myxbox and they fix it for you for free... call them soon though because it takes like 3 weeks.

I prank call them alot. I make up weird situations about an Xbox and they believe it happened. Once I said, "My Xbox is growling!!! It's possesed. What should I use holy water?"

Mine red ringed one time. It is a pain to get through the process of getting one sent to you, but they make it happen. I thought it was funny when I did mine. They extended the warranty on all of them to 3 years and obviously I knew this when I called, but the guy sounded like he was doing me a favor.

"Well Tom, the warranty on your console has expired, but here's the good news. We recently extended the warranty to 3 years, so I think I can help you out."

Microsoft and nearly every other company never charges for patches.
Prank calling support causes people with real problems to have longer hold times.
Microsoft has a pretty good replacement policy.
