I think most people have a song. I'm not talking about a favorite song or something they've wrote. I'm talking about a song they feel epitomizes them or a song they always go back to when they need to return to their normal selves.

The song I've kind of adopted as a personal anthem for the last year or so is Brandi Carlile's Keep Your Heart Young. I've been using it on my rapid cycling down swings to help stabilize my mentality when I start looking backwards at my life and only focusing on my regrets. It's helped me climb out of a slump numerous times.

My personal song has always been Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin.

I've been seriously stressed recently which is why I've retreated to my little
shell to collect myself. I just love Janis' delivery and how she sells a song
about just pure freedom from all the world's troubles.

I've heard it a thousand times and will hear it a thousand more with joy.

This is a tuff one. I guess most music is simply love songs, and not about ones life. To be honest there isn't much to select from.
