Can I use my xbox controller to play legend of Zelda?

Yes you can use a controller to play any game on the site, including Legend of Zelda
I'm not familiar with using an XBOX controller but I assume they are plug and play

If you use Steam, close it before launching game.

Plug in controller before starting game.

The original wired xbox controller is plug and play.
The original wireless xbox controller works but takes a bit more effort. Google "wireless xbox controller windows -360 -one" for instructions.

I think 360 and one are similar to the original wireless. Possible but not just plug and play. You can find instructions for using xbox controller in Windows on google.

My info might be out-dated but I think the best option is still the original xbox wired controller.

After you get the controller working with windows plug it in before launching the game.

Then choose full mode or score mode.
Full Mode will give you save states - save at any point.
Score Mode will only give you cart saves - save only where the original game let you save. But will give you credit for beating the game on the site after you do so.

Score mode will automatically set up your controller but you will probably still have to assign the start and select button. To change the default layout or assign start press "tab" on keyboard after the game launches in score mode.

In full mode you will have to assign all the buttons. Click "Input > Input Configuration" in the game window.
