Like the title says I need help connecting, to play smash bros with you bros. It worked before I got a new router but now I can't figure out how to configure it again. If anyone has any knowledge of this stuff and is willing to help just tell me what info you need and I'll post it.

Go to System Settings, hit Internet Settings, then hit Connection Settings. Pick the connection you have, then hit Delete Settings and do a new connection

Ah. did you have a password on the router?

That's where I run into trouble. I set a password but I can't seem to use that to allow the 3DS to connect. It's as if the 3DS is looking for a type of security my router doesn't use. When the kid goes to sleep I can try again and be more specific.

Linksys E1200 is the type of router I have if that helps.

try this: | Nintendo - Customer Service | Wireless Router - Linksys - E1000, E1200, E1500, E2000, E2100L, E2500, E3000, E3200, E4200 (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/routers/Linksys/E1000.jsp)

Yeah, the 3ds is not compatable with certain security types.

Make sure you aren't using a WEP key for your network security - use WPA2-PSK. It's more secure anyway. That's the security that the 3ds will accept.

I know that will probably be an inconvenience as you'll have to setup all your other wireless devices again, but that's why everything should be wired anyway. :p

Hopefully that helps!

Did you set up the router with security? What brand and model number is it? What security encryption are you using on it?
