Otakon 2014

So if you noticed I was missing the past few days (Thursday to Sunday), that's because I was having fun at Otakon! It's an anime convention in Baltimore. I went with my brother and three cousins. It's actually one of the bigger anime conventions in the US. Around 35k people were there. Saw tons of awesome cosplay and met a bunch of cool people.

One of the guests that attended this year was Dante Basco. He's the voice of Zuko in Avatar the Last Airbender and Jake Long from American Dragon. He also played Rufio in Hook. Anyway, I was able to talk to him, get an autograph, and a picture. We got him to say quotes from Avatar as Zuko. Also went to his Q&A panel. He was such a cool dude and made me fanboy everywhere lol. I had such a great time for my first anime convention (and first convention in general), I'm already thinking about attending next year's Otakon. It was definitely the highlight of my year so far.

I'll be posting pictures in the upcoming days. Anyone else go to Otakon? Anyone thinking about going in the future?

Yeah I live in New York so it was only about a 4-5 hours drive.

I was at the Orioles/Cards game Friday and walked around the city a bit prior. I had no idea this was going on the same weekend. Man was it hot out, I felt bad for the folks waiting in line at the Convention Center. Apparently there was some registration glitch?

We had to wait on line for like two hours, but it wasn't that bad because it wasn't hot outside yet and we got to see tons of cosplay. Traffic was hell because the Orioles games were on the same time the event was going on lol. I could see Camden Yards from parts of the convention center. Baltimore was pretty cool overall.
