Your childhood is a fond memory when you're only 14? Damn I must be lucky to even remember mine :(

Ruby/Sapphire did come out 12 years ago so it was probably his first Pokemon game.

I've never played Gen III so I'll pick this up for the hell of it.

I'm excited! Gen 3 was probably my favorite and I'm interested to see what kind of new content they include, though I wish they were doing Emerald because I liked the storyline of Emerald and the fact that both gangs were at play in it
It'll be super cool to see how some of the towns look in 3D

Bumperino.
This game is fun. I actually caught a shiny Eevee the other day. First shiny I've actually caught and wasn't part of the storyline or an event/gift.
My main six so far have been: Sceptile, Manectric, Altaria, Dusclops, Sharpedo, and Camperupt.
Right now I'm just catching legendaries and doing some post game stuff. I already beat the Delta Episode which was a neat addition.

The game was horribly easy, the only time I had anything faint was when i ran into an overleveled Taillow with Brave Bird on one of the first routes because of Dexnav and at Primal Kyogre because I was just throwing a bunch of Dive Balls. Would it kill them to add a hard mode?

Correction: It's a 3DS JRPG by the company ATLUS, which are responsible for things like the Persona, Digital Devil Saga, and the Devil summoner series.
It is also incredibly difficult.
Very, very difficult.
But hey, they let you lower the difficulty if you feel it's far too challenging for you, but you can only get that after you die the second time. There are also multiple endings for the choices you make during the course of the game, adding replay value. But most of all, since you love your pokemon so much, there is also demons. Lots and lots of demons. To collect and fuse. Does that explain things to you?

You can catch wild Eevee in this game? That's a first, isn't it?

In this game it's only after you get the National Pokedex which I think is after getting Groudon/Kyogre.
I'm pretty sure there were wild Eevee in X/Y, but I'm not sure before that.

You are correct Crispy. You can find them on one of the routes in X and Y
