I think it'd be cool to get some trades Goin on between RU members. This could be a public thread where deals are made, thus tying your RU alias to your interactions, keeping you from being shady. I have for sale a wide selection of US silver coins as well as silver bullion. The coins come with some premium. I'm trying to get about 20% of spot price for the bullion but am willing to go as low as 10% over depending on volume, (USD). Try and sell some cap guys I think this is a cool idea. Retro games or anything really.

How important are the instruction booklets? Do they look nice for SMT/AT?

I don't have anything to barter with but I'll buy the Adventure Time game from you. I'll give you $15 shipped. I can pay with Paypal or send you a check. Your choice.

I take good care of my games. I expect the same from someone I'd trade with.

Sorry DB, if I wanted cash I'd list it on Glyde for the $26 market price with the buyer paying shipping.

Sorry, didn't notice that you were selling the collectors edition (the non collectors version is going for $18 used). Still, I can pick up a new copy at Gamestop for $30 so paying $26 for used plus shipping isn't going to work either.
Good luck with your trades. I'll keep my nose out of this thread since I don't have stuff to barter.

Currency is used for barter.

I will trade games or money for Arcanum: of Steamworks & Magick Obscura or any of the Baldur's Gate series in their collectable editions.

If you're willing to trade money for games why not just buy them yourself?

Well I think it's cool to have inter-community trading or buying. It promotes people to act as an individual uninhibited. I don't have a bank account, credit card, or any other means of payment that ebay requires. Not to mention I don't want to support the monopolies on commerce. If I can go through an individual I will. Can you think of any reasons it is a good idea? Can you try, for me?

I'm not against your idea I was just curious about why you seemed to be avoiding retail/websites.
That Arcanum game looks really good. I actually had a copy when it came out but my PC couldn't run it and I lost track of it at some point. It's 6 bucks on gog I should get it when it goes on sale.
Btw I remember it was 80 bucks new.:bulgy-eyes: I got it through less than honorable means because of that.

Really good is a vast understatement. It's one of the greatest cRPG's ever made, and in my opinion, much better than Planescape or Baldur's Gate.

BG2 was an AMAZING game. I love the game mechanics and D&D style. Can't play the tabletop because no one I know would want too. They say Arcanum was the same style but amped up in a lot of ways BG was lacking. I can't wait to get it.
@DB, I saw a few collector editions in bad condition, the map and book were torn up, for $45, new I could only imagine. GoG probably is very cheap but I could torrent it easy enough. There's something I like about having the physical game, it assures me that, unless it is stolen or I have to bug out and cant take it, ill always have it to play.

As far as I know, GoG allows you to keep your games indefinitely once you purchase it. I got Duke Nukem 3D for free during one of their giveaways a year or two ago, it's still in my library and I can download it any time I'd like.

So you buy all the information? As in it downloads on the computer and you can launch it without ever needing GoG again?

Also, I'm thinking about if I break my computer or don't have it in times of long lasting crisis. If I have the disk, any computer works.

The way GoG is set up is it's DRM-free. When you purchase the game, you get some extras, and an .exe that installs the game just like that. All of the games on GoG are optimized for modern computers, so even if you get Windows 8, a game bought off of GoG will run perfectly fine, even if it's, say, Commander Keen or the like. That's why the games, at least the GoG versions, are easily available on torrenting sites -- all you need is the .exe.
So even if your computer blows up in a home invasion, you can go out, get another computer, sign into your account at GoG, and just redownload the game, no muss, no fuss.

Yeah, GoG is great. I have around 25 games on the service. Like ARLD said, it's DRM-free. Once you download the file it stays on your computer. There's no checks on requirements every time you start the game. You don't even need internet access to play anything you've downloaded.
You can also download the game as many times as you want to as many computers as you want.

So to be clear, if you were downloading it onto a different computer you would need to log back into GoG, so the safest way to own the game is to store it on external storage? I would need the Internet to re-download it?

You could always just keep a back up copy of the installer on a usb drive or a cd.

I assume the .exe is the installer right? You would still need Internet access to download it off GoG if I'm not mistaken.

Well sure, but what I'm saying is that once you have the installer from GoG you can keep it around forever.
Bartering:
I have a jailbroken PSP that won't read disks, an imported copy of KH2 Final Mix, and an Imported copy of Hatsune Miku Project Diva 2nd. Anyone interested in any of these at all?

KH2 final mix. Is it the 3 in 1 deal as the first final mix? Holy cap what do you want for it?

It's been quite a while since I last took a look at it. I'm afraid I won't be able to examine what's included as it's not with me at the moment. I can get back to you on that one in two weeks or so.

I looked it up, the final mix versions ate the re make that the creator wanted them to be like. The version I am looking for is the HD remakes, which puts three-games in one. I may still be interested in the KH2 Final Mix. I'll read up on it.

You don't need internet to use the .exe's at all. you can install them just fine in a cardboard box if you wanted to. :)
