Favorite Game Soundtracks

Mine has to be either Donkey Kong Country 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3. What's yours?

Damn that's a hard question. There are too many great soundtracks. One of the more memorable ones for me is the Paper Mario soundtrack. Recently I really liked the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack. Even though it's an old game I just played through it for the first time earlier this year. And so far through FFX, the soundtrack is solid.

Usually I have the sound down and the Ramones or James Brown blasting out :yawn:

But the music from Super Mario Kart on the SNES I fondly recall as being the soundtrack to a summer 20 years ago in a cloud of green smoke...

It's all so deftly arranged... and when you get to the Rainbow Road it's just perfect.

[Slime Slayer]

Metroid and FF 2 US are stand outs for me. I find of all soundtracks, those two are among the most important soundtracks to their respective games. They really made those games something special.

A new game soundtrack I liked was Gunpoint, very Jazzy really fit the
stealth bits.

a Genesis game.
