That reminds me of a terrible story I read about. A sinkhole opened under a guys bedroom and he was sucked in. His brother woke up to the noise and his brother yelling for help. He tried furiously to dig him out until the police/rescue crews had to pull him out. The house was unstable and the guy was assumed very dead from all the debris and dirt on top of him.

Those first three look like the ones in Guatemala. I think I remember they were warned about it years ago and they did nothing but make it worse. Something about no management of the underground water source and when it emptied it caused this chain reaction. Or something.

I happen to live in the ole KY, about an hour from the museum. That is what happens when you build above the largest cave system in the world. Sink holes open up all the time down here.
