I don't know a great deal about Clancy, but I do know that he was a thorough researcher and his thoughts and scenarios regarding the Cold War seem very calculated and interesting. Maybe we could pay tribute by reading into his literature a little.

He co-founded the company that develops the games, and (assumedly) he provided a lot of political/military detail elements. It's pretty unlikely that he was directing their development or anything.

I was gonna merge this with the celebrity death topic but I think this is an ok exception since his name is big in the game industry and it's so sudden.

I never read his books or played his games but I appreciate his talent. He died too young.

He definitely was one of the best thriller novelists the world has ever seen... he will be missed. My all time favorite novel of his is The Hunt for Red October. Liked the movie, too
