Sonic 3D Blast, Like it, or don't like it?

Time for another one of my threads based off recent events that I'm wondering about. Thought it might make an interesting topic since it's a game that gets a lot of mixed reactions.

Sonic 3D Blast is for the Sega Genesis, PC, and the Sega Saturn. A fairly different take on the series, at a point in the timeline where only 2-d side scrolling games were all that existed other than Spinball really (In the sonic series).

So what does everybody think? Sonic 3D blast? Like it? Don't Like it? Explain why :)

I have it, i didnt care much for it. It just seemed to weird to me, i liked my 2d platformers

This was the only game I ever rented and immediately returned after disliking it so much. Tried it again on here and it's okay but still would rather return it.

I love the heck out of that game. The music is amazing, the gameplay is challenging in the later stages, and the final Eggman fight is one of the best in the series IMO.

Agreed, but the best final boss... Perfect Chaos. Have you HEARD Open Your Heart?

Yeah, I've heard Open Your Heart, and Perfect Chaos is pretty darn cool, but as a whole I'm really not a big fan of lyric-filled songs in the background of any boss fight, let alone a final boss fight for that matter, unless they're of the Latin variety (or a fictional language like in NiER).

This is a song that is ambient and magical and has a sense of finale to it, while Open Your Heart fits more for an opening, which makes sense because it's the main theme of the game as opposed to being composed specifically for the final boss. It's a cool gimmick when done right, but otherwise it just comes across as being overly cheesy and "aww yay sonic is gonna beat the bad guy." rather than "Oh crap, how is Sonic gonna win this?"

Sonic 3D Blast isn't very good. The whole collecting Flickies thing was really tedious, and the controls were horrible.
