I'm encountering a weird glitch that's preventing me from playing on the server. Every time I try to pick up an item it loads into my boots slot and overtakes any armor or item I have there. So I wont be logging on again unless this bukkit glitch gets fixed.

I told the owner what happened to those boots, and it sounds like he had the same problem. Says he hopes to fix it soon.

Edit: Apparently my friend encountered the same problem on another server, so it's not just a problem with the server.

Anyways, I was encountering two glitches. One was the corrupted player dat file which was causing items that I picked up to be moved into my boot armor slot. The other was a corrupted map chunk which was giving me an Internal Server Error message and preventing me from logging into the server. After some back and forth with Method via PMs on the Project M site we believe the issues have been fixed.

Yeah, took me a couple of days to realize the ips and stuff changed, but I saw it on their forums.

I'll be back on playing again. Had a run in with the worst case of malware ever there, but I'm going to attempt to play. Computer is reset, but who knows if enough permanent damage was done there to make MC unplayable now. Hopefully not, seems things run better than before the malware even hit now, but a computer reset would mean a load off the computer I guess.

Anyways, that wasn't the only reason. Finals coming up, been busy bolstering my Biology 12 mark after strep throat and whatnot put me to 54% in term 1. Term 2 was 85% after my efforts. Off all week other than the Bio exam Wednesday. So, lots of free time for now.

Can someone update me on the status of the server? My link to the dynamap works sometimes but mostly it's offline. I see on the forum that there's people playing FTB, is that taking over for the vanillaish server?

I think people mostly play the FtB server now and the vanilla one is even more dead than it was. I would play the FtB server but the can screw off if they think I'll play on their vanilla server just so I can enjoy the FtB one.

@Tenser- Could you elaborate on the thing about needing to play on the vanilla server before you can play on the other?

he means you need to be member status like me and brawl are, once you can get that you can get on the FTB server since its a small server

Well that's kinda stupid really. If people rather play on the modded server why force them to play on the empty vanilla one? Seems like this kind of thing will prevent them from getting and keeping players.

because it costs money to run, and they work like ru does off of donations. and its trusted people on the server, so why let ANYONE in off the street into the ftb server where they can come steal your crap or overrun your nuclear reactors or blow up spawn?

I get that Katz but how are they gonna get trusted new people on a dead server?

But you see the paradox right? People need to play on the vanilla to be trusted but the vanilla is dead enough to make people lose interest and not play. It just seems very counter productive.

It's very much the snake eating its own tail. I'm a great example of what DB is taking about, Katz.

I stopped playing on their vanilla server because FtB came out. Now that they have a FtB server that I would enjoy playing on they expect me to play on a dead vanilla server that I wouldn't enjoy to earn the right to play on their FtB server.

The oddest thing is, FtB has all these mods to prevent any of the things listed by Katz.
Spawn blown up? Roll back the server and ban the user.
Reactor stolen? Ban the user and giver the player his reactor back.

I was interested in trying FTB too because I heard it has cool terrain generation. I'd feel silly derping around on the normal server by myself until I hit their member status.

Which also leads to the question, how do you become trusted playing on a dead server with no on else?

there are people who still play it, but its usually early in the day since they are swedish
