A couple of buddies and I were discussing about getting a weekly or bi-weekly game going over a free, browser based virtual tabletop program. Wanted to know if anyone else was curious enough to talk about it and would consider committing to it.

Experience preferred but not having any isn't a deal breaker. Will require a mic.

Sold me on it as soon as I saw D&D.
Had to return my purchase because I don't have a Mic. >_>

A joke, 'cuz, you know, I said "Sold me on it"
then "return my purchase" as in, "oh, nevermind."

I'd give it a try, but I would like to be able to bail with a clean concious if I don't like it. I have experience.

My old DM, who I still keep regular contact with would probably be interested.

Laptops come with built in mics. Nearly all thrift stores sell mics for $1. Amazon sells them for $3 with shipping.

I am in and have experience. But I want to reserve the right to bail if I run out of time. I can't start until January.

If you use 4E rules then I will link to some software that makes creating a character super easy.

I think bi-weekly might be too much. How long would each session be?

Bi-weekly means every other week, not twice a week.

A good session usually runs 3-5 hours, usually leaning to the shorter end.

Also, a lot of that time tends to be used on shooting the crap while doing before and after work.

There's a lot to be done before anything gets started. We'll have to decide on a time and frequency, figure out which edition we'll be using and house rules if any. There's also usually a first session that involves nothing but character creation.

If there's enough demand and variances on time we may have to run twp separate sessions.

There was enough interest to form just an RU group which I think will work out well.

We should all get a time where we can meet in chat (including Steven's DM friend) and discuss what edition we want to play, any house rules, when we'll play and how often.

As for availability to log into chat usually any day after 7pm EST works for me.

I'll shoot my buddy off an email now. He's a 9 to 5er, so the evenings would be best for him. Of course I haven't asked him if he want's to play yet.
