Nice interview. Its refreshing to see a younger generation take up interest in the older games not only that but play them well, my personel best is 1,042,xxx 3 boards away from a kill screen.
The one thing all the newer DK players in the last few years had was the benifit from learning techniques/stragities developed by the old timers through trial and error. now with mame and even owning your own unit one does not have to go to an arcade, (if you can still even find one let alone with 25-30+ year old games) to play them.
amazing how many people think MAME is like a home port of the arcade game...when its actually the original arcade game program code being run through a different means.

I agree with his statement reguarding player controlls. Theres something about playing Donkey Kong with a keyboard...(like I just can't do it)....I use an actuall Donkey Kong controll panel wired to a usb port so I have "the" right controlls and feel,...same goes with Hyper Sports and Track and field........................I use the original lever type arcade push buttons on the controll panel again wired into a usb port. .....I Just can't get up the speed/button rhythm through a keyboard or even microswitch based buttons...........having original controlls/buttons the game originaly used makes a big difference.
