Cleared Game

Does a game have to be cleared in score mode to have an automatic post in the Cleared Game Tracker? I just beat Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie for GEN and I'm wondering.

Yes, the game must be cleared in Score mode so you can submit it in order for it to count for cleared game status.

If it doesn't have score mode available, you can't get credit for mastery or for a high score.

Usually that means they don't work in Score mode and aren't available to set scores or clears in I'm afraid.

Ohhh boy. This changes everything. lol. So for the contest games, they need to be completed in score mode as well?

Yes Contest games need to be completed in Score mode as well. The rule of thumb is if you want a score / clear recognized it will always require Score Mode.

EDIT: Waiiit, so, are we allowed to continue in score mode if we're just going for a cleared game?

You are allowed to continue up to 5 times assuming that many are allowed on default settings when going for a game cleared only. If you want your score to count also then no continues may be used.
