Computer wizards i call to thee

ok, my computer needed a new processor, it had an amd athlon X2 64, do i need the exact same model for it to work? i found another AM2 socket processor (amd phenom x4) and i turn on the pc and then it turns on but wont go to the bios, any help?

EDIT: nevermind, i looked up my motherboard... it doesnt support it
