I wish to know what the best USB arcade stick there is without spending $100. What's your best USB arcade stick?

I'd do the same if I hadn't already played with my Fighting Stick Wii. The difference is tremendous.

I made my own a long time ago using the Ipac USB board from Ultimarc (http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac1.html) and arcade buttons and joysticks from Happ Controls (http://na.suzohapp.com/) (or maybe Wico when it was still around). But even that is going to run you about $100 in parts. I guess keep checking Ebay or Craigslist for someone selling the Xarcade (http://www.xgaming.com/) cheap.

Does the trackball on the Tankstick work with the games here? Or maybe the optiPAC from Ultimarc (http://www.ultimarc.com/optipac3.html)? I noticed most of the trackball games had pretty low scores so I am guessing not.

Does the trackball on the Tankstick work with the games here? Yes it does. Press Shift + F5 to enable mouse support and they will work.

Awesome. Good to know. Centipede is still pretty darn hard to play with the mouse. Guess I should look into getting a track ball.

What Kongger said. The Tankstick is mondo awesome! It really makes classic coin-ops come alive.

100 is pretty cheap for a fightstick/mame controller. The x-arcade would be your best bet though.

I pieced a joystick together and it ended up costing around 200 ish for sanwa and seimitsu parts and a case. Totally worth it though if you like mame. Be patient and check ebay, the srk crowd is always upgrading and getting rid of their old gear.

I own an Xarcade and it was the best gaming money I've spent yet. It's the best for dual joystick games, 8 way joystick games and all button games. But a word of warning, it sucks for 4 way joystick games. I've read where some people mod their Xarcades and put in a restrictor for 4 way games but I'm not that smart so I still play games like Donkey Kong and Dig Dug using the key board.

Got it. I guess it's a matter of luck and timing. I WIILL get an X-Arcade Tankstick.

They all come with an option for 8-way or 4-way. You can open it up and change them. Pretty easy.

Also, they are big. Before buying make sure you have the space to comfortably set them in front of your monitor. You aren't going to want to lounge on the couch with one sitting on your lap.

If you are going to use these with a mame cabinet having the track ball is very useful, otherwise you have to mount a mouse for navigation which is annoying. If you don't get a trackball then I suggest getting a keyboard tray and a keyboard with a mouse built in.

I bought these last year.
Two Player Build Your Own Arcade Bundle (PCB, Cables, Wiring, 2 Joysticks + 20 Buttons) (http://www.xgaming.com/store/arcade-parts-and-accessories/product/two-player-build-your-own-arcade-bundle-pcb/)

I planed of building a cabinet but I never got around to it and I probably wont anytime soon.

If anyone planned to buy them, I will sell them for retail price. They are brand new, never opened. You wont be saving any money but you wont lose any money either and you would be helping me out. :)

Did you get the black buttons?

Yes.

Start buttons are white.

I don't think they have other color options.

I might be interested in the near future if you still have them, provided shipping to Canada is no issue.

I've ordered a Mayflash Wii Classic Controller 2-to-USB. I've had a Mayflash converter in the past and I trust them. Why do I say this on a post about a USB arcade stick? My Fighting Stick Wii would then be a USB arcade stick. If this doesn't work I'm going to be angry beyond comparison!

I wish I had a duel joystick for games like robotron. I cannot play them very well with a controller.

You could probably connect two Nunchuks to a Classic Controller adapter. It was fun to do that with Super Smash TV on snes9x.

This one works perfect, I've been using it with my TVC stick for a couple of years now, no batteries needed either.

Well, well, well... It works perfectly! Oh happy day! (blushes) All right, I'm back to competing on Retro Uprising, at last.

Yeah really, I'd love one for Super Smash TV!

I use the Logitech F310. I once used the SteelSeries controller for a little while. But the F310 is extremely awesome and the best part is that I can pick up where I left off in terms of playing on the Retro Uprising website!

Save your money. You can use either an Xbox controller or the one I use is a PS4 controller.
