Interesting movie choice by Disney.
I'd just like to see Zangief Meet this Guy:
Team Fortess 2 - Meet the Heavy - YouTube
The amount of Russian Stereotypes would be endless!

That's pretty brave of them, video game character movies aren't a sure thing.

It doesn't look like a movie I'd enjoy or even watch, but I appreciate what they are doing.

Looks somewhat promising, though.

That's how I felt at first, then I watched the trailer again and decided I want.

How can any of you not want? It's a big budget movie staring well known video game characters. You should go to the theater and spend money to see it so they'll be more inclined to make more video game movies that don't suck.

I don't like the aesthetic. The premise that the trailer presented, just doesn't appeal to me.
It just doesn't look like something I'd enjoy.
I'm allowed to judge which movies I'd likely enjoy.

Did you read my last sentence? That was the important part. You may not think this specific movie is the bees knees but it would be supporting something you like in general, video game movies that aren't B rated embarrassments like The Mario Bros movie.

So, I should sit through a movie that doesn't appeal to me in the least bit just for the hopes that they make more movies like it and maybe, just maybe, make a movie that appeals to me on some level?
What if I don't want there to be an endless supply of video game movies?
From what I've seen of the one trailer that's out, I will not go see it. If a trailer is released that appeals to me, I'll maybe consider it. But, considering that The Avengers looks like it could be one of the best movies out there and I didn't even go and see it, I doubt it will happen.
If I cannot afford to go see movies I want to see in the first place, why would I go see a movie that doesn't appeal to me? If I have the money to go see a movie, I'll go see one that looks entertaining to me.

Hey if you hate it then that's fine. I'm just saying people on a retro gaming site should consider supporting a type of movie that appeals to us.

Can't believe Disney realized this:Wreck-It Ralph - Official Trailer #1 : John C. Reilly Intro (2012) [HD] - YouTube
It's the Toy Story of videogames.
Hope you'll enjoy it as mush as I do.

There already is a topic made about this. I'll merge the topics. It's no big deal, just try to look around before posting a topic.

The only part that was remotely funny was Zangief introducing himself, the second time I watched it, it seemed cool, the third time I watched I actually got a little choked up lol.

Have you guys heard anything about this new Disney animated movie? It looks pretty good to me. I like the fact that they are including real video game characters in the story.
Here's the trailer:

One thing I like is how: they even tried to put in characters from more obscure games. I loved seeing one of the Cyborgs from Cyborg Justice in the support group. It looks pretty good.

Oh. I must have missed that thread. I tried to do a topic search, but I didn't get any hits. I merged the threads now.
Yeah. It looks like alot of fun to me too. I am generally not as big a fan of most current CG movies (more a fan of hand drawn animation), but this is one I think I would go see on my own even without the coercian of a lady person.

Sorry for the late reply, but DB how can you diss on the SMB movie? Just observe:
Super Mario Brothers Trailer - YouTube
How can you say that is not faithful to the original video games? I loved the level in SMB where you could steal the cop car and shoot the Contra guns at that guy from Speed.
Now back on topic, another cool thing about WIR is I like how they are finally getting the gaming stuff right. I hate how so many Hollywood films are still doing the *bloopity-bleep* sounds for current gen games because they think no one noticed. This movie looks like there is alot of love shows towards gaming and getting the details right. I'm on board. :D

I took two of my kids on opening day as they just happen to have an In Service day at school. It was my daughter's (5) first ever movie at a theater. Saw the 3d version and had a great time. We thought the movie was awesome.

It's definetly the type of film to bring a kid too, that's kinda what my mistake was going it to it, I thought it was going to cater to more adult gamers. It's a kids movie through and through.
