Join the RU Minecraft Community Project!

So, there I was enjoying Blue Shoe 2's Minecraft Long Rail Final, and got the feeling it could be even better with some items in the scenery.

Then my best friend {MC username Barbi Kitty, whom I turned on to Minecraft back in 1.2.3} saw what I was doing and added in a few items of her own.
Thus began this project.

We had a lot of fun doing this and then it occurred to me:
Why not re - upload what we did, and turn this into a Retro Uprising Minecraft Community Project?

What I have in mind:

One of you to download the save file, add to it, re - upload the new file onto 2shared again {it's the easiest to use}, then the next person downloads it and adds something else, re - uploads it, and so on.
Remember to re - compress the MC save file using 7Zip before you upload.

If you intend to participate in the project, please make it clear in this thread that you have downloaded the map and are currently adding something to it.
This will prevent a situation where two people are working on the project at once.

Just one more thing - be sure to also add your username to the names already on the sign at the main terminal.

Just a note to say that I have the file as of this post and will re upload the updated file in several hours after additions have been saved.

I feel bad there seems to be no interest in this so far. I think the problem is it seems a little complicated to get into. I'll give it a shot during the next available inactive window. I don't have a clue what to add but I'm sure I'll think of something.

I think you're right, DB; the process does sound a bit complex, but it's quite simple:

Step 1: download the file from 2shared, {please remember to tell us that you have the file and are adding something to it ;).}

Step 2: extract to your .minecraft 'saves' folder using 7Zip or WinRAR.

Step 3: add stuff.

Step 4: recompress the save file using 7Zip or WinRAR, and upload the recompressed file to 2shared.

Step 5: post the 2shared link to the updated save file in this thread {and I hope you remembered to add your username to the list in the Main Terminal :meeting:}

UPDATE:

Barbi Kitty added more to the 'Mining Town', as well as some other items.
{I wanted to post screenshots but am having difficulty with 'attachments' right now}

I fixed the signs in the Main Terminal, now it's easier to add your name once you've added to the project.
Also fixed the derpy starting point a bit.
Started working on one of the huge blocks at one end of the track, with the intention of hollowing it out for - I'm not sure what I had in mind {and if you have a good idea for the space then please go right ahead} but the rail now goes around the outside edge, dropping gradually and then turning in and through the center of the block , heading toward the other {smaller} block, then on to .. Blue's house thingy in the Jungle there ?? :thinking:

Guess what?
The track is twice as long as I originally thought.
Once you reach the 'Retro Forever' on the side of one of those huge blocks I talked about, keep going in the same direction you are facing you will find even more track, just beyond render distance.

Basically, head in the same direction the track is going as you are climbing toward the top of the block and you will find Blue's house and to the left of that is the track atop a pillar, where it continues on at least as long as the first section.

In other words, what I thought was one 'end' of the track is actually just the middle.
