Felix Baumgartner is going to attempt to break the skydiving record when he does a 22 mile jump later this year. The current record is 102,800ft. He just did a jump from 71,500 ft to test and everything seems to be ready.

He's not technically in space but I posted the pic to show how close it actually is. I also heard they're hoping to make a record for the first human to break the sound barrier with just the human body, that's 768 MPH.

@DN- If it wasn't for the hostile environment in the stratosphere he probably would jump nude at some point. As it stands though he'd be dead in seconds without that suit. It'd be funny if he got to a certain altitude and just stripped it all off.

Well if I read right the record holder did it while in the service so it's like being sponsored. It would cost a lot for a regular dude to get up there with the gear.
