Holy mighty, talk about an abysmal launch. Did anyone buy one? People were going crazy talking about the 3DS's rocky start, seems like with the PS Vita people don't even realise it's been released.

I'm not going to buy a handheld that makes me buy memory for a minimal 30 dollars.
It's a total ripoff.

I knew about it due to the fact Primmy Bomb spams my email about Disgaea 3 on vita.

Problem is that it's so integrated with the PS3 that if you don't own the console you'll only get half the experience from the handheld. I would have been interested if it wasn't for that issue.

Too bad too, Gravity Rush looks pretty sweet.

I saw it at the store, I drooled, and then I bought a barley used DS Lite with Golden Sun. I love Sony but I bought a psp 3000 about 3 years ago and it still feels to really to get the new version.

I hated the PSP and I'm not going to spend $250 on the Vita when I already have an awesome 3DS.

i didnt mind the psp, I didnt think it was all that bad, there just wasnt very many games at all on it that i liked. I dont think I would get the vita. In fact I would buy another psp before a vita, because mines getting pretty beat up and scratched. And its funny because I didnt even know it had launched either:dont-know:

I think they should have waited till holiday season 2012, so many people splurged for the 3DS and I imagine most can't justify paying another $400 bucks (guestimate on handheld + game + memory card) so soon after. I'd say it's still to premature to call it a failure, if in fact it has been so far. I really don't know what figures they would be looking at for it to be concidered a failure, but I imagine it's more than the 700k units vgchartz is reporting.

Too expensive for the console, the memory is too expensive, it's too integrated with the PS3, the first model of any Sony console is sketchy. As cool as a lot of the games seem, it's totally not worth it at this point.

WARNING this may sound really negative and bitchy, I don't want to be RU's negative nancy when it comes to Sony/Xbox but it's just my two cents on the whole thing.

I played it. What a piece of crap. Yeah 3DS might not have the same graphics, but the ACE up Nintendos sleeve that everyone forgets is load times. Go to your local best buy/future shop and pay attention how long it takes to get IN GAME (furiously pressing skip screen buttons). It felt like loading a commodore 64 (not even an exaggeration). What's the point of making it portable if the games won't be ready to play by the time my bus/metro arrives?

The buttons are so awful. Sony is supposed to make luxury hardware, they went all out on the vita, yet the most important parts are so brittle and cheap. The controller is so disgustingly crap. Sony is Astro Turfing the thing into the ground too (outsourcing people to write comments on message boards etc [to simulate organic growth]). The whole thing is just typical.

While we are on the topic, the launch title thing is so obscure to me. NEW SYSTEMS BARELY EVER HAVE GOOD LAUNCH TITLES !!! I'm used to "Here are 5 games for the next 4 months". The 3DS launch is INCREDIBLE, in all my years of gaming, I have NEVER seen such awesome launch titles EVER.


TL;DR: Wasn't impressed.
