How do you play N64 games?

When I try project64, it loads and says "what language?" I select English and the dialog box disappears... Thats it, no game

The I try Mujen, or whatever the other emu is called. It loads and then a screen pops up with blank lines. I go to select "load ROM", but it starts looking in "My documents" on my PC... Again, no way to play.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to download an emulator or ROMS separately?
I'm trying to play with a corded 360 controller BTW.

Sorry, I'm kind of a noob here.
I wouldn't want to use teamviewer.
I am using Windows 7, with Firefox 10.0.2

The only 64 game I've tried is Goldeneye 007:

both available game modes don't work, and it is the first time I tried loading a N64 game:

It loads for a bit.
A box pops up on my virus scan that says some malware.gen is trying to load.
Then, Mupen 64 0.5.1 comes up, but it looks like a blank spreadsheet. I assume that the virus scan is blocking a necessary file needed to load properly.

It loads, then a "Project 64" logo comes up and asks what language I would prefer.
I select English than the box disappears.

I have this exact same problem with the exact same settings.

Works for me.
Though, the controls are really awkward on the keyboard, at least for this game.

Used IE version 8.0.7601

Same thing happens, but it gets done loading faster.
Same blank menu in Mupen, and after selecting "English" as language for Project 64, it disappears.
Not a big deal. Most other systems and games work fine.

I had the same problem on Paper Mario it asked me what language I chose English then box disappears and music starts but no picture I am using Internet Explorer 9
