Well I'm back...and in Highschool.

Well, I'm back from a bit of a hiatus of posting here. Why? Well, A. I'm now in highschool.

And B. I've been sort of going through a future blocking phase. All this talk about SOPA, Nuclear Wars, Asteroids hitting Earth, basically the end of world and such topics were really going through my head. So much so, that I've actually tried avoiding anything that mentioned things like this. Which is why I've rarely visited RU for a while.

However now I've realized a couple of things. One, you can't run from/avoid things forever. Two, the future may be dark but it's also uncertain meaning. And three well, this is the present, and not to be rude or anything I'm honestly doing well in life for a 14 year old. So that (most likely amaturely :doh:) explains why I haven't been around, I hope to be more active but then again I've been more busy lately.

I have some good advice for high school as well. Just don't go. It worked for me.

We got those for free in my school. Well the cookies were 25 cents, but might as well have been free.

We actually had a thing in the morning called cookie break after first period. (I did go to HS for 2 years) I think it was $1.00 for 2 cookies and a carton of milk.

I had reduced lunch because I was poor. On top of that the lunch ladies loved me and hooked me up with extra food. It pays to be a handsome smooth talker. Never quite figured out the humble thing though.

Haveing been a part of it I can explain. The school system now a days send out applications home with there students that the parents must fill out. They need to list there S&S , there income, everyone who is in there family and there income that live in the home. By this the state would then figure out what you quillfied for free, reduced, or denied. There are some expections if your homeless, or get food stamps or in another bad situation like that they state instantly puts you in the free or reduced catagory.

Milk was like 15 bucks a month in Elementary for me years ago. Parents had to sign up and whatnot though. (no it didn't come in bags, spare me that joke I've never seen bagged milk lol)

Lunch was not free at my Junior high, or my last high school. Generally ripoffs.

Lunchrooms are still not free at my latest high school, again ripoffs. Best thing we have is a few corner stores, a grocery store and a pizza place down the hill from my school. Only grade 11's and 12's can go off campus though, but that includes me :)

How is it a rip off? Schools need to make some money to cover costs. I dunno if it's different up there but down here our schools are seriously underfunded, the public ones without big football programs at least.

nah its not any sort of program, its just what volunteers for the school prepare at the lunch room. 5 bucks for a burger is really expensive

Well that still sounds like they're making up for their costs. If they're volunteers that means they aren't getting that money. So the money must be going to the school, right?

true, who knows. Either way, a lot of kids buy stuff there. Mainly the grade 6-10's since they can't go off campus like us
