I'm also gonna get Tropico 4 since it's on sale for like 13 bucks, I should be able to bang out that achievement before tomorrow. I was also gonna buy Dungeons of Dredmor since it's like a 1.75 and part of the contest.

Spiral Knights after you get through the tutorial and get to Haven, you have to click on the crossed swords icon on the top right(it's red, all the others are white)

Enter a lockdown game, right click on a snowball to pick it up, and throw it at someone on the other team. hit them and you get the achievement, you do not need to finish the game.

BTW, anyone interested in buying games in bulk should check out the Publishers catalogs and Pack Deals. There's some really great savings in there, one pack is normally like 600 bucks(yeah really) and it's down to around 50 for the sale. I also saw All Square games 33% off, EA/Rockstar 50%, ect.

That sucks I'm jealous of some of those games. Btw I just did the Spiral Knights thing and got a 50% sale on an indie game that's already on sale for that exact price. Awesome? Even better it's just a shiny newer version of Qix. Coal would've been much better.

From the gift pile achievement list, click on the little link that says something like "Steam community"(it's underlined in the description) should take you right to it.

I just got a steam account two days ago... Well, apparently the one I tried to use years ago still existed, and so I used that.

I've bought several things already:

Bought Terraria which was my primary reason for getting Steam (50% off 5$)
Bought Counter Strike: Source (50% off 10$) - Unfortunately it doesn't work, although I meet the requirements...
Bought Oddworld: Munch's Odysee (75% off 1.24$)
Bought Half Life original series anthology (75% off 3$ I think)

Half Life original Series Anthology included Half-Life, Half-Life: Blue Shift, Team Fortress Classic and the best game in the series; Half-Life Opposing Force :D

That's it for now, but I'm impressed, more so than I was several years ago with steam.

I beat it a couple years ago on steam. Funny thing, for at least a year it was glitched. You got to a point where you opened a door, game froze. No way around it.

One day I fired up steam and it downloaded a patch to fix it so I finished it.

I already had about 1/2 the games they gave me, I just wish they let me gift the extra copies of what I have but no, not allowed:at-wits-end:

@Bearhawk, really? I hadn't noticed. I had the game off a friends account on my old computer, and no issues. That was about 9 months ago I played and beat it. Lucky timing, eh? What did you think of it in comparison to Blue Shift and the original Half Life.

Cam there is no good reason for you to avoid TF2. It's free, you like FPS games, it's got a very active community, several RU people play it(sometimes together) and it rewards players for playing(item drops for time played). Just do it already.

So is anyone playing TF classic? If the community is still large enough I'd be interested in playing some old maps again.

well technically I have TF Classic. The thing is, I'm still not in an FPS phase :P I bought the half Life games and Counter strike because they were cheap, and I knew I'd play em eventually. Relax for a bit, I'll get back into FPS when I get back into them. I'm occupied with Terraria and Munch's Oddysee anyhow :)

Nope still not good enough. Download the game and try it out. It's not technically the same as TC Classic. The main reason being TFC is probably hanging on by a thread and TF2 is bursting at the seems with players and updates.

The main reason I want you to do it sooner rather than later is it will make it available for you if others are playing it. What if you log on in a week and all your RU friends are playing it together, wouldn't you wanna join for the fun of it?
Also it's smarter to start sooner so you can start collecting weapons and hats.

I can't believe people actually like train sims enough to have millions of DLC and such on Steam. What can you do besides speed up and slow down? 90% off is good though.


I finally got that Rise of Immortals game to work after many hours. It took a while to get the achievement because of laggy matches and people quitting but once I got into a good match it didn't take long, just heal people fighting the bosses. I'm glad I didn't give up, I finally won a game! It's not the greatest but it was free. World of Goo.

Well you have until the end of the event to do any of the achievements, you don't have to do them on that day-they just become available on that day.

1. Well, I guess I'm stuck with em then, I made the mistake of accepting the gift. It was part of the first challenge, checking your inventory and accepting the first gift they give you. Guess I didn't think about it. I prefer the original Half Life games, but I'll play this eventually I guess. Better with a mouse, anyways.

@Katz, it didn't give me episode 2, and I find that weird since it gave me all the others lol. But yeah, you bet. Garry's mod gets laggy when a lot is going on for me. I'm going to ask my uncle about new Graphics cards tomorrow.

edit: It gets laggy sometimes, but generally is okay. Main reason for a new graphics card is because my laptop holds up to today's standards easily, except the graphics card, it wasn't meant for gaming. To clarify.
