I went to see this movie with my little sister and it was phenomenal. It kept a charming and innocent childhood atmosphere while still having pretty solid writing, directing, and more actor cameos than you can shake a stick at.
The whole movie variates from different repetitions of comedic elements during the course, and they're all things that make it feel complete as a whole. During the first twenty minutes, there are numerous self awareness jokes to help you break into the movie and actually build up an interest in it's humor. As the story develops a greater focus on the Muppets themselves as opposed to the new central characters, there becomes a greater emphasis on being obscure in modern media, while at the same time having ironic cameo appearance from current actors such as Jack Black, Sara Silverman, Whoopie Goldberg, Jim Parsons, and Kristen Schaal, to name a few. To top things off in this short review, all of little singing numbers were well preformed (in my opinion) and were actually written by The Flight of The Conchords.
Obviously it is a family movie and you might look like a weirdo if you go by yourself, but if you catch an excuse, I highly recommend you go see it.
