So I just got to play MarioKart7

I work for a media company and we get a ton of stuff for reviews, I just asked the videogame guy if I could try kart7. It's freaking awesome man. First off, it's a lot of the same (why would you want it to change?). I turned the 3d off (it wasn't like a big thing anyway, I just don't like playing in that type of 3d [the kind that basically forces you to cross your eyes]).

ANYWAY, things that are cool right off the bat ...

The graphics are whatever, but the CLARITY is really nice. It looks nice on the 3ds, like very crisp.

You can use the leaf from mario 3, it's pretty neat to get if you weren't expecting it.

Those add ons for the karts are great. When you make a big jump and throw on the glidder it's cool/feels natural.

And finally first person view, I'm not sure if this was in double dash or whatever, but it's kind of neat to play mario kart in first person (but I mean who's gonna do it all the time right ?? it's just an aside thing for kicks).

Anyway, it's mario kart, if you like the games buy it durrr did you really need someone to tell you that ?

It plays almost exactly like the other ones, it's the 7th installment, I don't think they wrote the code from scratch or anything. It's good though, mariokart fans will like it. It's barely different. There is a lot of stuff to try to fool you it's different (you can change wheels on the karts and stuff) but it's just mario kart ds with gamecube graphics.

Like I said, the only noticeable thing is how nice the screen looks, it's really clear... lol big deal right ?

It's the same freaking game is what I'm trying to say, but mario kart is good so who cares ? Madden Kart 07 slight improvements.

Cool thing was the player screen looked like the snes one. 8 guys to choose from, no weirdo fanfic alternate mario universe crap. It's basically the snes line up.

Apparently the rubber banding has been toned down, and now the defensive weapons are as important as the offensive ones, witch focuses the game more on skill than luck, that's kinda good I think. Snaking sucks though, hopefully it will be balanced out by level design but I doubt it. Also it might not always be feesable to snake because the top speed coins are back.

Is it as fun as Mario Kart: Double Dash? That was my favorite. Probably the most fun game I had on the Gamecube.

My wife bought a 3DS so we might end up getting this. One big deal breaker for me though- does it continue the "reward horrible players and punish skill" thing the Wii version had? Also what is snaking? I've heard of it but I can't remember.

I'd need some time to get used to the maps and the system but I doubt it will take long. I won't win them all but I will make my presence known. I've been playing since the first one so I'm no slouch.

I like what I'm hearing, that all the bad luck crap from MKWii is gone. Between all of us, we could just agree not to snake? I didn't even know that existed in Mario Kart. I thought it was an F-Zero thing.

I heard the game was actually rather decent, and not so bad. I was expecting it to just be another thrown in game for the series since it wasn't done on the platform yet or they just wanted more sales for the 3DS line-up(Which is pretty obvious). I know what I'm buying next week.

respectfully disagree in this case. I like GX the best. I don't know why. I played F-Zero X before any of the others I believe though. Never played the original until like 2006 believe it or not. May have something to do with it.

It looks legit, but I'm not completely sure.

Also, since we're on the subject of F-Zero, I love all three of the console games(I haven't played the GBA games. They're supposed to play like the original.). F-Zero X is my favorite. GX is fun as hell too, but it caused quite a few ragequits.
