Got any good ones for 1.9?
I tried
'FINAL'
{all caps} and it's pretty good.
Lots of jutting cliffs and interesting mountain ranges.

the one we have now on the server has had a few interesting spots. Cam and I found a volcano lake / lagoon, and a mountain that was much wider at the top than at the basestill exploring though

Is there some rhyme or reason to why certain seeds produce more interesting worlds than others?
I still don't understand it.

I'm playing a new one 'Schnauzer 428' and it's pretty generous with the minerals, also I found an NPC mine almost right away!

I'm searching it right now looking for a connection to a ravine or better yet a Stronghold.

Yeah, random gen but i could get the seed from the config. It's not anything spectacular but it has some interesting spots.

I'm playing a new one 'Schnauzer 428' and it's pretty generous with the minerals, also I found an NPC mine almost right away!
This map may not have the spectacular beauty others do but it certainly has it where the minerals and items are concerned:
I wandered away from the NPC village and mine I adopted and got lost.

During my search I came across yet another NPC mine which is by far the best one I've played = so many chests!
I got completely re - supplied by them including iron pickaxes, diamonds, iron ingot, gold ingot, buckets, bread, seeds, and of course pig saddles.
{can't have too many of them, you know}

But this is not all:
I made a portal and found a Nether Fortress!
{and am having a great time exploring it and making it my own}

So I'm wondering: is it my world seed {Schnauzer 428} that has produced such a generous world?
Are the worlds you guys are playing as generous, and if so, what seed did you use?

Hi guys, I know everyone is probably knee deep in green water, hanging with the Mooshrooms, invading Nether Fortresses and finally getting to The End.

Best I can report is I have a stable link from a Nether Fortress to a beautiful island with awesome waterfalls and such ... and then I found this:

I checked it out and it is exactly as shown in the video with both villages a stones' throw from spawn, with the furthest one being featured in the video.
Good luck finding those mountain ranges though = these new maps are so big!

So has anyone found any other interesting seeds for 1.0?

I don't know. Our current map seems to offer up quite a bit of diamonds. I've found about 70 while branch mining and spelunking.

I really think you would love our SMP server Joe. Everyone's pretty well hooked up. Plus I was toying around with a really simple mob trap designs and I found one that would work perfectly for you during those long nights with creepers watching you through windows.

I was on a few times, just getting started building a place .. but for the past couple of days my MC won't login so I've been playing offline.

Is it just me, or is the MC home server down?

Fungle in the Jungle!!

Don't want to monkey around with the 'preview snapshot' and have to backup your files etc., but still wish you could try the new Jungle biomes?

the seed walruswalruswalrus is amazing. It spawns you inside a blacksmith's house, and the town is partially in a ravine!

I know of a few.
Lost
spawns you around some giant mushrooms and mushroom cows. It's apparently in a mushroom biome.
Dead Space
just try it out, I don't know how to describe it. It's awesome, though.

eroticcatsouls is a nice seed for creative, it spawns you on an island with NO LAND IN SIGHT.

There was a lack of even a single tree on the island so no wood or tools for me. I punched all the grass and grabbed one seed and gathered some dirt. Then with my fist I punched through layers of stone looking for an abandoned mineshaft. I didn't find a mineshaft but I did find these:

Even on a 'survival island' map you still manage to find diamonds.
