Some of you know that I've been living in the dark ages, still using a giant box television set. Well, I've finally made the plunge and recently purchased an LG 32" 1080p flat screen TV.

Amazon.com: LG 32LK450 32-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV: Electronics

I got it for $379, no tax, no shipping, and I'm pretty stoked. Does anyone here have any knowledge of LG TV's? I know they make great electronics, so I'm curious to hear people's feedback about this purchase and any other better recommendations that you might have.

I have a 30 day return policy on this product, so if something better is out there for a comparable price, I'm protected.

Thanks,
Tanc24

I'd prefer one that can act as a computer monitor and filter cable through it.

I agree with Tails. For me no VGA input is a deal breaker. The Amazon link didn't mention VGA but one of the reviews said it had a "PC cord". That might be VGA.

It has HDMI input. If your computer has an HDMI port then that would be best.

I could be wrong but I think Tanc probably doesn't care about hooking his PC up to his TV. If that's the case then it sounds like a good price on a good TV.

Dudebro is correct. I don't care about hooking the TV up to my computer, but it would be an added bonus if it's possible. I'm glad you guys pointed it out.

Overall, I feel good about the purchase. No matter what, it will definitely be an upgrade from the giant doorstop I'm using now. 8)

UPDATE: Here's what I found in a review. I think I'm covered if I want to hook it up to my PC.
"As far as features are concerned- it has all of the standards (sleep timer, auto-on/off, etc). It is missing picture-in-picture but this seems almost irrelevant for the size of the TV. I am throughly impressed with the number of inputs and outputs on this TV. 3 HDMI ports, 2 regular RCA (red, white, yellow) inputs, and the PC cord. The PC cord input even has a headphone audio input! This makes using my long cord very easy and converter free.

As a note, I use the TV with my PS3 and PC, and both look and sound fantastic.

I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone. "

I got a similar TV(but only 720 :( ) on clearance a few years ago for about 250. It's awesome but it also doesn't have a PC input. So far that has only been annoying once or twice in about three years. But I also have a 360 with Netflix so watching those movies on TV is nothing now.

RU on the big screen is cool though. I have a friend that has a projector. I play on that a lot.

I've thought about getting a projector for gaming before - would look awesome!

I bought a big flat one off Fungusman for 400 about 6 months ago, and I've only used it about a dozen times.

Is it safe to play video games with your projector?

I think gamingwolf might be thinking of projection screen TVs, I remember hearing that those are not good for video games, something about burning an image into the screen or something. Devices that just project the image onto a surface should have no trouble.

Hehe, Pole Position at my old arcade used to have the words "game over" permanently burned into it.
