I guess this is the best section to ask this. The gameplay on this computer (desktop) seems to be lagging somewhat, compared to my laptop which would play (anything) normally in a heartbeat. I don't have my laptop for now. It's mainly the audio lagging/repeating (for example in the simpsons arcade coin-op if you picked bart it will say b-b-bbart) and the gameplay a little slow. I was wondering if someone knows how to speed this up. I have done most of what I can to free up memory and disc space and delete uneccessary files ect,. Anyone have anymore ideas? Thank you.

close down any extra browsers or programs other than RU of course. Run a defrag, do a virus scan too while you're at it.

5. Learn about ReadyBoost

If you're using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use ReadyBoost to speed up your system. A new concept in adding memory to a system, it allows you to use non-volatile flash memory—like a USB flash drive or a memory card—to improve performance without having to add additional memory.

Press F11. That will show you FPS%. If it is not real close to 100 then you will notice the problem you mentioned. F8 and F9 can help you tweak with the framskip to help get it close to 100%. Press one of them until you come to Auto Frame Skip.

It may seem stupid but you should also make sure your PC is ventilated and the fan is clear of dust. I know if it's clogged up it can make it work harder and it will cause problems like overheating.

I will try just about anything that works. I cleaned up a few problems, defragtmented and such. The nes and sega games seem to be working a little faster and better now. I don't think will be up to par with my laptop (probably the internet service on this one and im using windows xp on a slightly older computer) I would try the frameskip tweaking idea and have a feeling that would work, if the coin op games would load now lol. They were loading yesterday and playing but for now they are the only ones not loading on here. I get an 'error game did not load message on them all". If nothing else I will try again with those another time, they may load then.
