Dude had Magneto with half health left and other guy had one character with half health and the other with 3/4. He got both in a combo and killed one and then used a supercombo to kill the other :p

Im pulling for Justin Wong and Combofiend in the finals as well. There were some EPIC battles tonight and some combacks that were just off the scale lol.

Justin Wong got third I think. PR Rog was second, and the winner was Viscant for MvC3 Finals. It was a pretty awesome tournament! I was sad that Wong got out though :p Not sure what place Combofiend got in but I think he lost in first round.

@James- The person was using Tron, so I think it was Combofiend or Justin Wong. Might've been someone else though.

I think Combofiend was 4th, Justin Wong 3rd, PR Rog 2nd, and Viscant 1st.

I found out that PR Rog did the Tron Level 3 grab on Viscant's Dark Phoenix to reset the game point to 0. Too bad Viscant just went and won three games in a row to get the title :p

on one hand it's gonna be cool seeing someone new win, but at the same time I just can't believe Daigo lost so early on

He's definitely not the unstoppable beast he used to be.That being said, this is the first time he didn't make top 8.

That's what gets me, like there are times where he hasn't won, but he's always at least in the top 8, he's always among the best in the world, but he got eliminated so early and I really have no idea which of the remaining contestants is gonna take the win, I mean, they eliminated some of the most well-known names in the history of fighting games

Well he had tough match ups, he lost to "luffy" who I don't recognize the name, then he eliminated Mago, who is a top teir player, the got eliminated by Filipino Champ.

Fchamp looked really on point in his matches BTW, I can't stand the guys smugness and attitude, but if he keeps playing the way he has been he could take first this year.

He had tough matchups yeah, and Fchamp looks incredible, but still one of his most famous moments was that comeback where he parried Chun Li's super in 3rd Strike so I figured he'd pull a victory out of somewhere and make it farther

I'm still in awe, I never thought I'd see a Rose win Evo and I definitely never thought I'd see someone using a pad over an arcade stick would win, but the Zangeif who made it to the finals was using an Xbox 360 pad and then the dude who won was using a pre-dualshock PS1 pad of all things, I always thought it would be a hard controller to use for fighting games.

Yeah the PS 1 controller thing is weird. It kinda makes sense though, since probably 95%+ of console gamers are more comfortable with a pad, why specifically a PS 1 pad is the confusing part.

Another great year in the books, can't wait for the Canada Cup. Nov 7-9th I think.

For those who don't know the CC is a team based event, 5 on 5, country vs. country.

Yeah but it's still weird, as generations of systems go by, normally people will just adapt to the new controller. Aside from that, the later installments of the duel shock are similar enough. Maybe he'll get interviewed and settle it.

It could have been easier to mod to work on multiple consoles, or maybe it's more responsive, wireless controllers can be less precise sometimes even these days, or maybe it's because the analogue sticks gets in the way of how he holds it?

I really want someone to ask him about it because I need to know, I always thought it was kind of awkward for fighting games

That was the best SF4 EVO yet, pretty much every match went all 5 rounds, poor James Chen couldn't hold back the tears at the end.
