How Do I Work My Gamepad Controllers For Playing Games Without Using XPadder?

I don't know anything about computers,never mind the fact I've been trying to make the gamepads work ( 2 of them ).. I tryed Xpadder so many times which was VERY confusing after 2 weeks I gave up -__- I don't even think I need it because a "Gamepad" box flashed up one day my boyfriend got it open now we can't find a way to get it open again.. WOW I must of changed some sortttt of settings cause now when i even try to do what i did before to change the controls for my keyboard to play it wont even come up it shows me a bring green bar & MASTER OBD something when i press enter :S:S

Not sure what that is, but stay tuned. I'm sure Kong will swing by to help you out with this. Or Seahawk might also swoop down for assistance. They're the more tech savvy mods here. In any case, why no love for the keyboard? :( I play all my games with the keyboard. It's a much respected way of playing don't cha know?

Alright thanks I apreciate it lol && Nahh I don't mind at all,since i started playing the keyboard is just fine for me!!!! I acutally am not a gamer myself LOL but my bf is & he's the one who wants to play with the gamepad cause he always used to lol..I am enjoying the games though on the site really fun lol

Well that's too bad that your BF can't cope wihtout his gamepad. What games have you played so far? Anything in particular you'd like to play. Our game archive is huge and it's easy to miss a game here and there.

Sounds like you hit the tilde key instead of the tab key. The tilde key is usually right above the tab key and one to the left of the #1 key. It has these two symbols on it ` and ~.

That key brings up a green bar that is used to adjust the volume. Try it again and make sure you hit the tab key which brings up the menu that allows you to adjust the controls.

Xpadder is not helpful if you are using ArcadeOX - it often gets in the way and makes things more difficult. I suggest turning it off. It is good if you are using Java though.

LOL Final Fight is really all we ever play & ive tryed super mario & shinobe & others =] ..

I tryed to press Tab again over & over even restarted my laptop left it & now its still doing the same thing.. I managed on another game to bring up what i was looking for cause it had the "File Options" etc at the top & I clicked use SNS JOYPAD, i guesss my gamepad isnt SNES its a Logitec One .

ArcadeOX Full Mode will also automatically detect your controller if it is plugged in before you load the game but you will have to use the menu to configure it before it will work.


Where extacy is the menu? what do i press?

ArcadeOX Score mode is the same for every system so it is easier to describe the instructions.

Full Mode has slightly different instructions for each system.

Which system are you playing on? Example SNES, Coin-Op, Genesis etc.

The instructions for arcade games is the same in Full and Score mode.

If you are playing this game Final Fight (http://retrouprising.com/game-menu/game/5355/)» Coin Op (http://retrouprising.com/game-menu/coin-op/) then in both modes all you do is
plug your controller in - you must do this before starting the game (you might want to use windows control panel to make sure the controller is recognized and working)
click one of the play mode links
the game will load up
after the game starts press tab
the menu will appear
use arrow keys and enter or the mouse to select different options
select "Input (general)" or "input (this game)". The first option changes controls for all coin-op games. The second changes it for just this game.
Select the control you want to change and then press the button you want to assign to that control.
exit out of the menu and you are finished.
