Hi guys.

I'm John, but most people call me chiz. I'm an old man (40) and have been in the video game shooty business for over 30 years. I made a few games on the Amiga in 1995-6 and got them published in magazines (sokoban - Amiga Power), (Plat-Man - The One - Amiga), (Boondar - The One - Amiga).

These days I'm a web developer, but I'm sick of paying £40 for a game that lasts 20 hours, then it has no replay value. I'll stick to playing the classics, like Bomb Jack, Space Harrier etc.

I'm a friendly chap, and happy to challenge anyone at any retro game for a high score - for a laugh.

This is the site I've been waiting on for years. The high score thing is utter genius.

That's cool, glad at least one of them is on the site. I'm not sure if the others will ever make it on here but it's probably not out of the question considering the circumstances. ;)

It's probably the beard that evokes that reaction; if you wore some glasses and a collared shirt you could pass as a professor or something.

Also I never played or heard of that game. Maybe I played it and forgot but I'm not into those gametypes anyways really.

I know Moon Cresta probably isn't as well known as some of the other games of its era such as Radar Scope or Sea Wolf but there's just something about the mid to late 70's games - I think it may have to do with the early sound effects.
I never heard stuff like that before, except perhaps on the bridge of the Enterprise on Star Trek.

Moon Cresta was more popular in our neck of the woods than Radar Scope Joe. In fact I don't think I've ever seen a Radar Scope machine. Didn't play it till MAME.

We had a Moon Cresta machine in our local chippy. Brilliant game, but I always seemed to be left with the crappy little single shooter ship.

Local chippy with a Classic game - Oh the memories! Many an occasion I went hungry to feed my gaming habit. I loved Moon Cresta too way back when. Very distinctive sound Fx, but a bit of a coin guzzler. Completely forgot about it until I stumbled across it by accident on here about 6 months ago. Couldn't put a dent in Woolly Linnet (http://retrouprising.com/game-menu/user/18718/)'s top score though.
