SSX Series

Has anyone else played these games? I've played a hell of a lot of SSX Tricky over the years on all 3 main platforms, and it's just always so addicting. I love the extremity of the games, but with that said it seems they tried to move away from the extreme feel with SSX: On tour. At least I think so, I haven't played SSX: On tour since it first came out.

Anyway, reason I bring this up is that I just bought SSX 3 finally along with a couple of other games for cheap (The ps2 is really paying off for cheap games :)). I'm loving it so far, it seems to be less extreme than SSX Tricky so far but I'm enjoying it.

If you have played these, which game was your favourite? Which character did you use?

I used Psymon when I was 10 or whatever age I was the first time I played it but I've stuck with Moby the past several years since. SSX Tricky is still my favourite so far.

yeah, if I hear that song I instantly associate it with SSX Tricky now lol. SSX Tricky is the only video game my sister likes too so all my siblings and I can actually get into that game.

Funny thing I noticed in regards to the music. They have the exact same Finger Eleven song in SSX 3 as they do in 1080 Avalanche. I would assume that since nintendo had it in their snowboarding game that no one else could but idk. It's an epic song for these games anyways.

Only snowboarding game I've ever played is 1080 on the N64. I liked it okay.

Personally I think Cool Borders and 1080 were much better. No stupid flashy graphics or over the top nonsense and no ridiculous kidsy crap.

It's not my opinion I'm just confused by what you said. You like that game because it's nostalgic but you hate the N64 so you can't even entertain that one of the other titles might be better?

SSX 3 is insanely fun now that I've played most of it, however SSX Tricky is still the best imo. The campaign isn't as imense with buying tricks and alternate events like half pipe and stuff, but the levels were better I think.

Hard to entirely say which one is better, they're both great. I wouldn't pass up a chance to buy SSX tricky if you see it. All console versions are good. I have the GC & Xbox versions. I bought the GC one like last summer for 10 bucks because my original xbox has issues...

I remember cool borders for the ps1 back in high school that was the first boarding game I played I can't believe I thought that was a good game.

oh, yeah. I still like 1080 since I played it first, but I like it for different reasons mainly. 1080 Avalanche is alright too.

I agree that 1080 was good. One of my favorite N64 games.

Fun fact: Zoe of the SSX series also makes an appearance in Sled Storm, a snowmobile racing game.

It's a fun and different kind of racing game, but that cover .. ugh!
