A daily dose of satire never hurts.

The sad part of this is that I would not dismiss this as something they would propose
I agree with this. When I saw the headline I figured they proposed something ridiculous and frivolous, but not so ridiculous as literally redefining PI.
Speaking of ridiculous stuff-
Creation science (http://www.conservapedia.com/Creation_science) proves the biblical account, that dinosaurs were created on day 6 of creation (http://www.conservapedia.com/Creation)[3] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Dinosaurs#cite_note-2) approximately 6,000 years ago (http://www.conservapedia.com/Counterexamples_to_an_Old_Earth), along with other land animals, and therefore co-existed with humans, thus debunking the Theory of Evolution (http://www.conservapedia.com/Counterexamples_to_Evolution) and the beliefs of evolutionary scientists about the age of the earth.
Creation science shows that dinosaurs lived in harmony with other animals, (probably including in the Garden of Eden (http://www.conservapedia.com/Garden_of_Eden)) eating only plants[4] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Dinosaurs#cite_note-3); that pairs of each dinosaur kind (http://www.conservapedia.com/Kind) were taken onto Noah's Ark (http://www.conservapedia.com/Noah%27s_Ark) during the Great Flood (http://www.conservapedia.com/Great_Flood) and were preserved from drowning[5] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Dinosaurs#cite_note-4); that many of the fossilized dinosaur bones originated during the mass killing of the Flood[6] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Dinosaurs#cite_note-5); and that possibly some descendants of those dinosaurs taken aboard the Ark are still around today.[7] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Dinosaurs#cite_note-Today-6)
Archaeological (http://www.conservapedia.com/Archaeological), fossil (http://www.conservapedia.com/Fossil), and documentary evidence supports the logical (http://www.conservapedia.com/Faith_and_science) conclusion that dinosaurs co-existed with mankind until at least relatively recent times.
Because the term only came into use in the 19th century, the Bible (http://www.conservapedia.com/Bible) does not use the word "dinosaur." However, there are numerous references throughout the biblical account. For example, the behemoth (http://www.conservapedia.com/Behemoth) in Job (http://www.conservapedia.com/Job) and the leviathan (http://www.conservapedia.com/Leviathan) in Isaiah (http://www.conservapedia.com/Isaiah) are clearly references to dinosaurs,[8] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Dinosaurs#cite_note-7) [9] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Dinosaurs#cite_note-8) although others have claimed that Behemoth and Leviathan are references to a hippopotamus or elephant and a crocodile respectively. However, the Biblical descriptions do not fit those creatures, note that hippopotamuses and elephants do not have a "tail like a cedar".
This is the entry they put as the leading theory. They go on to say-
The view of atheistic (http://www.conservapedia.com/Atheism) liberal (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal) junk science (http://www.conservapedia.com/Junk_science) and others who accept the uniformitarian timescale is that dinosaurs existed on earth from 230 million years ago to 65 million years ago. In this view, the entire population of dinosaurs were wiped out by a mass extinction event (usually thought to be a meteorite) about 65 million years ago. This precludes humans and dinosaurs co-existing. This is not satire, as far as I can tell. Conservapedia claims it's the alternative to Wikipedia. Supposedly they're avoiding liberal, atheistic, communist, socialist, homosexual, ect agendas and providing what they see as the truth. It's pretty fascinating but that dinosaur page really caught me off guard. The kind of people who turn to conservapedia for info would probably support redefining PI.:bulgy-eyes:
To each his own. People can believe whatever they want so long as it doesn't cause war...
When I first read that article I thought it was real. When I looked for the link to add it here I saw it was a joke.
The sad part of that is not that I am gullible but that our political system is so pathetic that I would believe they would create a law that redefined a mathematical constant because they thought math was hard. :(
Some Bible literalists think God says pi is 3. There are a couple verses that lists measurements and pi has to be 3 for them to be accurate.
And this actually became very close to being a law in Indiana in 1897. It passed in the Indiana senate. And was going to pass in the house until a professor convinced them to put it on indefinite hold. I guess the house still has an option to vote it in.

@DB post, is it just me or do most verbal attacks like this one "The view of atheistic (http://www.conservapedia.com/Atheism) liberal (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal) junk science (http://www.conservapedia.com/Junk_science)" actually mean educated and not atheist or liberal. I guess "educated agenda" doesn't have the right propagandic ring to it.
I found proof that Jesus is real and that dinosaurs are still alive. See attached photographic proof.

I enjoyed this comment about Conservapedia-
columnist Emma Jane described Conservapedia as "a disturbing parallel universe where the ice age is a theoretical period, intelligent design is empirically testable, and relativity and geology are junk sciences."One good thing to come out of that ridiculous website is RationalWiki. The site was formed to combat the moronic lies of conservapedia, specifically their claim that abortion definitely leads to breast cancer.

Awesome picture btw. If Jesus rode more dinosaurs maybe the world would be a better place by now.

But Pi is not equal to exactly three. Oh, that Conservapedia is pretty damn funny at first, but then it becomes depressing when you realize it isn't satire.
Atheism and the suppression of science, as well as atheism and the rejection of science, is one common criticism of atheism (http://www.conservapedia.com/Atheism), as atheists have often suppressed scientific knowledge (http://www.conservapedia.com/Science) because it conflicts with a presupposed materialistic (http://www.conservapedia.com/Materialism) worldview (http://www.conservapedia.com/Worldview).[1] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Atheism_and_the_suppression_of_science#cite_note-Lennox-0)
On May 1, 2007, Castro did not attend Cuba's annual celebration of May Day, leading many to believe that he had died. While Castro allegedly met with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (http://www.conservapedia.com/Lula_da_Silva) on February 25, 2010, [47] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Fidel_Castro#cite_note-46) there is no independent confirmation that this was not in fact a body-double.
I guess Castro is just a body double now.
Liberals often make approval of liberal (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal) values a condition of friendship (http://www.conservapedia.com/Friendship). Someone in a "liberal friendship" can expect loss of the friendship if he dares to express dismay or disapproval of the liberal values (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal_values). For example, Nobel laureate Ronald Coase (http://www.conservapedia.com/Ronald_Coase) described how he was victimized by disparaging whispers at cocktail parties about his conservative (http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservative) economic positions.[1] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberals_and_friendship#cite_note-0)Liberals can't make friends.
Researchers under James H. Fowler, professor of medical genetics and political science at the University of California, San Diego, claim to have discovered a "liberal gene" (DRD4) associated with DNA in certain individuals. Fowler's research centered on dopamine (http://www.conservapedia.com/Dopamine), which is a neurotransmitter that affects many processes and controls over the brain, including movement, emotions, pleasure, and pain; he further claims in his paper that it's heritable, meaning it can be passed on from generation to generation, depending on social norms and environments.[4] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal_stupidity#cite_note-3)[5] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal_stupidity#cite_note-4)
His paper followed previous ones in which he claimed voter turnout was determined by two genes[6] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal_stupidity#cite_note-5) and altruism[7] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal_stupidity#cite_note-6); all of which appeared in the Journal of Politics instead of a typical scientific journal. If such a "gene" is true, then it explains many traits of liberal behavior with regards to stupidity, some of which is detailed in the following topics:
Liberalism is genetic.
Liberal hypocrisy is the act of a liberal (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal) saying or doing a certain thing for which they condemn others in doing. Liberal hypocrisy (http://www.conservapedia.com/Hypocrisy) can extend as far as condemning a conservative (http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservative) position yet embracing the same position it if it becomes a liberal position. A recent example of liberal hypocrisy is that liberals will often criticize George W. Bush (http://www.conservapedia.com/George_W._Bush) for drinking in his youth, although they do not criticize Barack Obama (http://www.conservapedia.com/Barack_Obama) who blatantly admitted to using drugs (http://www.conservapedia.com/Drugs) and who still smokes [1] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal_hypocrisy#cite_note-0) and drinks alcohol (http://www.conservapedia.com/Alcohol) [2] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal_hypocrisy#cite_note-1). George Clooney, actor
Mocked fellow actor and guns-rights advocate, Charlton Heston (http://www.conservapedia.com/Charlton_Heston). When Clooney was told Heston suffers from Alzheimer's disease, he responded:
"I don't care. Charlton Heston is the head of the National Rifle Association (http://www.conservapedia.com/National_Rifle_Association). He deserves whatever anyone says about him." [10] (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal_hypocrisy#cite_note-9) Clooney (http://www.conservapedia.com/George_Clooney) stared in the film The Peacemaker, in which he played an American military man defending the country from a nuclear attack; scenes in the film showed him using a gun to defend himself and others.
If he used a gun in a film, he must support gun rights, because, you know, actors play themselves exclusively.
Bigotry is the expression of hatred (http://www.conservapedia.com/Hatred) or aggression (http://www.conservapedia.com/Aggression) towards those who are different. Examples of bigotry include racism (http://www.conservapedia.com/Racism) and religious intolerance (http://www.conservapedia.com/index.php?title=Religious_intolerance&action=edit&redlink=1).
Bigotry is common among atheists (http://www.conservapedia.com/Atheists), elitists (http://www.conservapedia.com/Elitism), liberals (http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberals), Muslims (http://www.conservapedia.com/Muslims) and homosexuals (http://www.conservapedia.com/Homosexuals) towards critics of their ideologies. Some liberals deceitfully (http://www.conservapedia.com/Deceit) claim to uphold equality of all viewpoints and free speech, but are in fact routinely prejudiced against opposing viewpoints. They are particularly bigoted against Christians (and indeed faith (http://www.conservapedia.com/Faith) in general) and Family Values (http://www.conservapedia.com/Family_Values). It is typical to see liberals refer to their opponents as racists (http://www.conservapedia.com/Racism), fascists (http://www.conservapedia.com/Fascists), Nazis (http://www.conservapedia.com/Nazis), rednecks (http://www.conservapedia.com/Redneck), fanatics (http://www.conservapedia.com/index.php?title=Fanaticism&action=edit&redlink=1), or any number of more profane slurs
