I think it's cool and stupid. Cool that they wanna help clean up the streets but stupid because they could get killed, get a victim killed or interfere with police or an ongoing investigation.

What happens if criminals start doing this? What happens if the guy pops into a bank or gas station and decides to rob it? What if the guy catches a criminal? Vigilante justice is a crime.

I like it though. I think the world is a more interesting place if people try to be batman in real life. Maybe I'm a little messed up but I want some real life super villains walking around too.

But in real life I think it's just asking for trouble to stand in a criminal's way.
You just never know what they could be armed with, or if they're a Kung Fu master or what.
It's just not worth risking your personal safety and well being.

I think its a good idea to a certain degree...but however is doing it needs to know there limits.

There not Batman that can take out a gang of armed guys by himself or Superman that cant be hurt by bullets. If its something simple like running off drug dealers (which can turn ugly) or scaring off car/purse thieves then go for it lol.

But hopefully they realize when its time to get the cops involved and when to know not to cross the line.

I think the important part is whether you are directly threatened by that hostility.
So, is the hostile criminal right in front of you, or did you come running from somewhere else to confront them?

Also, I think the person who attacks first will likely be considered 'an attacker' by the law, making their target a 'victim' by default.
So you could go to jail for your heroic efforts this way.

For the record it's always legal to roundhouse kick people into slurpee machines. It may seem strange but the honorable Carlos R Norris ruled on it a few years ago.

I was just making a sarcastic statement about how backwards the law often is, and how it often seems to protect the guilty more than the innocent.
Like the guy who got sued by the thief who broke into his house and got hurt when he stepped on a skateboard {and went for a ride}.

@JG- Honestly I think there could be a case for that if it happened under certain circumstances. Like if you literally got dressed up as a super hero, with weapons, and went out looking for a criminal to fight with excessive force. I would not be surprised to hear about that at all.

I say its a good idea, but they're gonna get themselves killed :/ Its also just one person. Now if they had a whole league of "superheroes", that would surely be interesting :p At least if we have heroes/villains, life will be a little bit more interesting lol

Like many people, I say its both a cool idea and bad idea too. Its cool because its not everyday you see someone being Batman and fighting crime. But not only could they get themselves killed, they could also put the existence of comic books at stake again.

The fact that these people actually did something like this means that they read comics and then many people will make statemnts like "If comics were banned a long time ago then these people wouldn't have been inspired to do such a stupid act!"

So that's my 2 cents. While I totally support the concept, I also think its ratther wise not to do it again.

That was pretty interesting. I think the guy could get killed, but I would fear the reaction of the police more than criminals. After all, criminals are a superstitious cowardly lot.
