View Full Version : Product Recommendations...

I thought it would be fun to have a thread where people can recommend useful products that they have personally used.
It could be anything from an "As Seen on TV" product that actually works or just something that someone randomly found that is helpful.
The only pseudo-rule is people should post pictures of the helpful item.

Okay, I'll start. The item that inspired me to make this thread is this:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51dSyMODJKL._SL500_AA300_.jpg
NAP Massaging Bed Rest
It just arrived a half hour ago, and I just started trying it out. It's glorious. It's a great bed rest for watching TV in bed or in a chair, but it also has three massage modes, a built in book lamp, cup holders, and firm support arm rests. It's heave!!!

My bad, it's a product that heals the horrible skin on peoples heels(or other rough skin). It honestly works extremely well, almost too well. I had to stop using it because my feet lost traction and I was sliding on the hard wood floor. I thought everyone heard of it by now.

Now you can "bust-a-move" with ease. :D
@WB: I'm interested in that, how much is it?

Unfortunately, it's not super cheap. It's around $99.00, but it is really nice. The construction is great too, so it won't be falling apart anytime soon.
Here are a couple of other nice features:
- 3 levels of massage (different intensities)
- Fairly firm arms for better support
- Cup holder
- Adjustable reading light
It's a chunk of change, but from looking online it is much cheaper than most other items in this category. I highly recommend it.

Big question? Armchair have room for mouse?

Do you mean the mouse on the armrest itself? I wouldn't recommend that only because the controls on on one arm and a cup holder ont he other. You could have a mouse in front without the arms getting in the way, though.

Yeah it's more designed for a bed or a couch, not really a chair unfortunately.

I found one of these PS3 controllers at Wal-mart for about $20. They can also be used as a controller on RU, since they are wired. They work really good.

I don't know what particular brand those up in the picture are, but I got me a 156 piece set of craftmans. They are essential for every man who is the man of his house. HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting some tools if you don't already have them.

Jojo, I hate to say it but I found a huge error in your photo. Since we're talking six months ahead of time we have to take the future into account.

You can't just stare into a 3-d Chun Li Tails, you just gotta take quick glances now and then.

+1 That's a great point Hawk. If I become the new Baron Harkonnen (Shameless nerdly reference) at least I will always have Chun Li. :in-love:

I have one of those too. They are epic! Actually, I have to say my most recent best purchases have been recommendations from friends. Jojo convinced me to buy an X-Arcade Stick and Guru told me about the Bedrest. Thanks guys! :victory:

@ Tails, Steven is correct. It's kind of like the Ark of the Covenant in Raiders of the Lost Ark. You can't look at the picture in 3D for too long or your head *ahem* mind could explode.

It may be huge, but it looks small on WB's future belly.

I've mastered (http://retrouprising.com/game-menu/user/10191/#mastered) quite a few games (http://www.youtube.com/user/Seahawk0027?feature=mhsn#g/p) without one, so maybe I can stick with this gamepad. Although under my (ab)use it doesn't last very long XD. But it's cheap ($15).

I use a combination of things. I really like a game pad for most console systems, but I use the X-Arcade stick for a bunch of the classic arcade games. There is nothing quite like it for those types of games.

Time to bump this. I wanted to let you guys know about a great product, I can't get enough of it.
http://400caloriesorless.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/v8-bottle.jpg
I drink it straight from the bottle and I have to force myself to stop. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Try it, totally worth it unless you hate vegetables. Even then, just try it.
@DB: I've tried it. It's good. But I got tired of it.
Here's another great product.
This thing is just awesome! Makes hot meals over night from barbacoa to soups.

Just be sure to keep away from any with a Teflon coating.
I know most are ceramic bowls but I did see one that had Teflon, I think it was a rice cooker.
{it's a known carcinogen = a cancer - causing agent, for those yet unaware}
But slow cookers are great and make for a 'no fuss, no muss' meal no matter what you decide to throw in there.
You can put your dinner on in the morning and enjoy it when you get home, and they're more energy efficient than stovetop cooking.
Great deal!
... but now I'm hungry ..
My wife was out shopping and brought me this http://www.bbqsauce.be/image.axd?picture=Tabasco%20Chipotle.jpg Whoa momma! This stuff is really good! It's smoky and tangy with just the right amount of sugar. It's not very spicy compared to the regular Tabasco, but the flavor is simply amazing. I put it on some pizza last night and my chorizo and eggs sandwich this morning. If you ever find this thing, grab a few bottles.
