Hey guys. Well, this Saturday I'm going down to my local Target store to buy a brand new virtual console card for my Nintendo Revolution (wii). I know I want to download Super Mario Bros. 2 from Japan, after all my family did have it in the Philippines for the Famicom Disk System but I don't live there. Well anyway I want to know if I should download Metroid or Super Metroid because my cousins have neither so I can't play with them. I know Super Metroid is considered the best of all time but I like going back to the roots and starting off from the start. Well, these are two great games and which should I download first. I am very thankful for your replys so please help me out.

WOW!! That is a dilemma. I can see going back to your roots and getting the original NES game, but all the new stuff that the SNES version brought to the table was great too (personal favorite - grappling beam). If I had to pick only one I would get the SNES version.

I'd go with Super Metroid. I enjoy them both, but without maps and maybe some hints you'll have a hard time getting through Metroid. But if you really want a challenge you could try playing it blind.

Partly for that reason, but also for this. Forget everything you know about Super Metroid for a second. He's never played Metroid before if I read correctly. Remember popping in Metroid for the first time? Remember how you easily got lost, the sence of exploration and discovery? If he doesn't enlist any help from shrines or walks, man is he in for a frustratingly good time.
Super Metroid is easier and more linear. That's why more people like it over the first. That's why I like the first better.

Well sorry but I forgot to mention that my cousins did have the Original Metroid but its been lost for a very long time and I never had my own copy of the game. Its probably in this cardboard box in the garage where my uncle keeps all of his stuff. Probably destroyed by now because they had tons of games. Almost all of the NES launch titles if I remember, Contra, Skate or Die, Legend of Zelda, the list goes on. So yeah, I have played the original Metroid but I never beat it by myself because I was like four years old the last time I played it on a console and not the site.[br]Posted on: October 11, 2007, 07:04:59 PM________________________________________________ _Dudes, I just downloaded Super Metroid today and its awesome. I like it better then the first one. I also downloaded Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) because the one here has some graphical bugs in Lite mode. Its the perfect game for any Mario fan and its a good challenge. Thanks for the feedback.
